I'm just wondering if the path is icy? Thanks for the answer, and happy holidays

The path on Saturday wasn't icy, since up to about 1300m there was no snow, further on there's snow and it hasn't iced up yet, path is nicely trodden, a bit of caution doesn't hurt, no need for crampons yet, but you can have them with you, since you never know how it is now in these few days, maybe some new snow fell. Happy holidays and safe steps in the mountains. GOOD LUCK

How about skiing on Sorica. I know nature is beautiful, especially in nice weather, but I'm curious how the ski slope is prepared. Any rocks? Nevenka

Is path to Komna icy? Good boots enough or need 4-point crampons? Asking cos going with wife, only one pair crampons. Best, Urban

I was up there on 8.2.08, no need for crampons. But anyway if hiking winter mountains should be mandatory gear.

today I was up there (first time), gotta say expected more struggle on climb. otherwise...steep starts roughly halfway (around 40th hairpin, top near hut still lots but less due higher temps thawing (started at Savica hut). on parts or most path breaks through, step carefully cos thawing makes slippery.

On Saturday I went to Komna. Nice weather, path trodden, still some snow upper part. Saw some ski tourers continuing to Lanjževica or Bogatin.

Hello I'm quite new here, also with winter hiking. I think Komna is a suitable hike for the start. What are the conditions for hiking to Komna? I plan to go tomorrow. Thanks for answers and L.P.

The path to Komna is trodden and passable without major issues. Recommend gaiters and small four-teeth crampons.
