Yesterday my wife and I were at Kriški Podi. Although the weather in the morning in Zadnjica didn't look great, it turned into a wonderful day. On the way back to the valley it was pretty hot for us At the hut it was blowing pretty strong. We met only a handful of hikers, which surprised us a bit given the packed parking lot in Zadnjica. http://sine771.blogspot.si/2016/09/kriski-podi-2050-m.html

Today with mates at Kriški Podi. Skis need to be carried to the rest spot before the crossing approx. 1h. Continuation rotten to the snowfield below Stenar Notch. Stenar Notch hard, last meters skis on backpack and crampons on feet. Skiing to Pogačnik Hut super. Pogačnik Hut open because of AŠ AO Radovljica. Then we climbed the normal route to the saddle above Sovatna. Sovatna rotten snow and again rotten. But doable. With a bit of luck and ingenuity searching passages you can ski to GRS hut below Luknja and then via passages to boulders on normal route. Another 20 min walk to car.

I drank it one month ago from under the melting snow patch, and I'm still alive.

You can buy such nice filter straws that you can drink straight from the little lake , head towards Razor, you'll find some snow patch somewhere

Fourteen days ago I was at Kriški. In the WC it says the water is not drinkable. But I was pleasantly surprised when someone ordered a bottle of water, and the friendly waitress told him that the tap water is completely healthy, they just have to have the sign until they get papers from the lab.

Interesting... usually they really scare that water is not drinkable. Reason probably to sell more water Snowmelt is totally fine. We've already melted snow into our mugs. If you're more sensitive, take a stove and boil it. Best regards and happy trails!

Most hut keepers stick to saying the water is not drinkable, even though they drink it themselves. If they don't have analysis done and some sensitive person complains or reports, they can be fined immediately, as we know how it is today. So it's not just about selling bottled water

I fully agree with Ana. I always fill up there too, they just have to have the warning. Otherwise, if you come from Zadnjica direction, there's excellent flowing water about half an hour before the hut, spring and trough, no need to carry it.

About 300 m from Pogačnikov dom (on the nice path) towards Kriški rob there is flowing and drinkable water as much as anyone could want.

If the staff deserves praise, it's right to write it correctly too: Pogačnikov dom

Bbugari Probably Mr. Silvo accidentally slipped with these fantastic successes of tamaugapogija i.e. Tadej Pogačar.
