Hi mountaineers Anyone have experience on path Pogačnikov dom - Skrlatica - Pogačnikov dom? Elevation diff on path, or how long it takes? Would like to go to Skrlatica, but alas even from Aljažev dom, shortest route (6h, 1800m diff, all x2) too much for my knees one day

Like this I tell you, Moncsa - Did this route five years ago, think it was 5 hrs, in between jumped to Dolkova špica!! Descent at Rdeča škrbina quite uncomfortable, gotta be very careful. That's ascent time, descent to Vrata 3 hrs.

Oh fool, how didn't I think of it So: Elevation diff on route: 2400m - 1360m = ca. 1000m; Hiking time: 8h30min - 3h45min = ca. 5h that would fit Yesterday on Spik, barely alive, but already planning next tour Skrlatica, I'm coming Thanks, nata24!

@ mailman: thanks also to you for personal experiences! I always count a bit more, slow hiker who often stops, photos, eats... running up and down pointless for me, point is panorama on way Even Spik said 4 hrs from hut, hallo, 5.5h up 5 down... not slim! No prob with chains pegs, scree steep descents kill me most. True north face Prisojnik down, Grintovec -> Češka koča quite fun )) Yeah.

Yesterday to today overnight at Pogačnikov dom. Hut fully occupied, good to reserve bed ahead.

We girls also decided to go to Kriški podi to watch chamois, which weren't exactly inclined to posing. A few exceptions. We went up via Sovatna to the hut for coffee and a friendly chat with the girls in the hut, then onwards to the upper lake, climbed up to Križ, descended to the saddle and continued to Bovški Gamsovec. We descended to Luknja to Vrata. The whole day we were accompanied by nice, sunny weather, wonderful views....

Tomorrow I plan a hike to Kriški podi or Prehodavci, which one do you recommend more

On Kriški podi, an interesting visit is also Šplevta peak 2224m west of Pihavec, which the keepers of Pogačnikov dom established years ago as a convenient short and panoramic tour.

My wife would go with me too, but she wonders what the path is like (difficult-dangerous) or if it requires fitness preparation

DarjoJ Path from Zadnjica to Kriške pode definitely requires some fitness, since you climb a lot, if we think of difficulty no problems. So go for two days and it will be easier, and it's so nice here that you will hardly leave Kriške pode.In this heat I advise you against a visit, let it cool down and everything will be easier. I wish you nice experiences on Kriški podi.

path not dangerous, wide trail - mulattera. Considering that one way 3.5 hours and elevation difference approx 1300 m, it requires some fitness too.

DarjoJ, on Wednesday, 17.8. went to Kriške pode together with kids (8 and 10 years). Path through forest super, on open parts the sun burning. Some fitness is still needed... like for every path Good luck

Why open a new thread kriški podi for one useless question, which is already open before?
