I went today to Lanževica from Savica. Started at 9:07, summit at 12:25, back at the car at 14:41. Route Savica-Komna-Bogatinsko sedlo-Lanževica-Bogatinsko sedlo-Komna-Savica. Wanted to do a loop, but was a bit scared alone on Lepa Komna so went back the same way. Hikers up to Komna, further no one, on return met only a gentleman and lady climbing to Lanževica. Path without special features, dry, quick to traverse, sunny , solitary, nice, views great too. PS: 3rd and 4th pic not right below summit. Can change description. Pics taken with phone.

You did a great tour on a nice day, I also like animals, as I'm from a big farm, dog is indispensable on farms. On the above written among us hill climbers let there be no grudge, in the end we all like each other and rejoice and forget the past.

I congratulate both or rather all four. You chose a nice tour and as MajaO described you had an incredibly good time. I myself slept several times years ago in the winter bivouac at Krn Lakes, the best was when there was still a stove inside, you could dry everything, and it was warm too. Usually I did the tour Krn Lake - Lanževica - Komna and back to Krns, second day to Krn and to the valley, of course usually at the spring transition and with skis. Keep going like that MajaO and turbo, just a tiny bit I fear that the LJ-bovška ski touring group will miss @turbota this winter .

Does anyone have information whether the path from the Komna hut is trodden, circular through Lepa Komna and Bogatinsko sedlo? Are snowshoes needed?

On Sunday, it would be a sin if we stayed in the valley

Nice greeting petrah777, I see that you are nicely active-satisfied in winter trips. We also spent this Sunday actively in the gullies of Vrtača, hope we meet somewhere and enjoy safe steps wherever you go .

Yes, we went via Lepa Komna, it's quite well trodden. Over Bogatinsko sedlo it was icy, that's what they told us in the hut. The weekend was very well used, and the weather was perfect for the mountains Hm, yes, some work during the week

Saturday weather, gorgeous, ...especially beautiful views from Lanževica summit in all directions, again full of edelweiss, most flowers already in autumn dress. I hope winter won't come so soon, snow in mountains dragged into summer. Though our Father has white cap already.

On Wednesday, 12.3. and Thursday, 13.3.2014, I took advantage of the forecasted sunny weather and set out on a snowshoe odyssey across the boundless expanses of Komna and at the foot of the Lower Bohinj Mountains. I started the hike at Hotel Zlatorog, where the bus dropped me off just before 7:30. To the Savica waterfall I warmed up just right for the winding ascent to Dom na Komni. In snowy conditions the ascent is much more interesting than on bare ground. In the lower part quite some fallen trees, but the path was well trodden and the switchbacks were quickly behind me. From Dom na Komni I continued to Bogatinsko sedlo and further to Lanževica. Well trodden to the saddle, further towards Lanževica there were tracks of some predecessors too. I returned to Dom na Komni via Lepa Komna, where I followed the skiers' zigzags and the faded tracks of two snowshoers. Due to the strong sun the snow was mostly softened already in the morning, waterlogged by midday. On the descent towards Lepa Komna under a thin crust it was dry and powdery like powdered sugar. The beauties of the landscape cannot be described with words, even photos barely caught a piece of the sparkling splendor. Scorching sun, sky without a cloud, at 2000 m.a.s.l. not a breath. After hours of snowshoeing among white dunes I completely lost the sense of time and the day passed like a flash. In Dom na Komni I spent a pleasant night and enjoyed the luxury of the only guest. Thanks to the friendly ladies who took good care of me, and Perla who guarded us. Already today the hut is bursting at the seams and far from the peace of the mountain paradise in which I enjoyed alone. The next day I continued past Planina Govnjač to Konjsko sedlo and through Žagarjev gradben to Ukanc. But that's another story.
