3. 7. 2022 to Lanževica. Up the serpentines, past the hut at Komna to Planina na Kraju. After a short stop towards Lepa Komna to the summit of Lanževica, circular return via Vratca to the hut below Bogatin and further into the valley.

Sunny and very warm day. Komna is currently clad in flowers of all kinds. In the last part of the path just below the summit it is full of edelweiss, you have to watch where you step. We even found a Triglav rose. And on the return above Gracija valley there are huge patches of Sternberg pinks. They smell and really colour the slopes, there are so many.

On Lepa Komna we met two hikers twice, a bit more on the return. In front of the hut below Bogatin we pleasantly chatted with female hikers and the warden. Food excellent. nasmeh

Views from the summit very beautiful, familiar, in all directions and also across Slovenian borders. nasmehnasmeh

Two-day trip, 17 hikers, from Savica to Komna, to the hut below Bogatin to Bogatinsko sedlo. Weekend weather changeable, some sun, some clouds, but no rain, path dry, temperature pleasant for hiking. We have an excellent organizer Tatjana, also a guide with super moderate pace Špela, trainee guide, the fittest Rafael, and the watchful eye of our caring guide Alenka. Everything went well, chat with acquaintances and after good two hours we were already at Komna. Warden Herman not yet there, still at Kredarica. We left part of the gear at Koča pod Bogatinom, where there are friendly wardens from Lovrenc na Pohorju. At Bogatinsko sedlo we had two options, either over Bogatin, Mahavšček to planina Govnjač. Since it darkened considerably in the west, we decided and went to Vrh Gracije and to the two-thousander Lanževica. We were especially happy for the conquered summit, since we know, a two-thousander is a two-thousander... We enjoyed returning over Lepa Komna, I revived memories of the path to Planina za skalo...
Komna really always has its charm, be it in spring or during summer flowering time or autumn or winter idyll. On the way we saw lots more edelweiss, which is always an experience, for some first time...
Pleasant gathering at the hut below Bogatin, baptism of two new members, good dinner and rest. How well Ingrid captured in the lens the regular guest at the hut below Bogatin, the fox...
On Sunday easy descent to the valley, then along the walking path to the camp. Some of the bravest swam in the lake, others rested on loungers. Also the boat ride on Bohinj Lake has its charm, with views of Pršivec, Rudnica, both churches. The young lady made an effort and told quite a few interesting facts. Then refreshment, chat and thanks to all the main ones that everything went excellently, bravo whole team.

Yesterday (06.10.2022) in great weather to Lanževica. Started from the hut at Savica. Went there via Bogatin saddle, back via Lepa Komna. Well, not quite. For some time I've been interested in the path from Planina Poljanica, under Kal, to Planina na Kalu, where it joins the marked path Komna-7 lakes. The path is easy to follow, brushwood is cut, so no problems. The path is also very visible from Lanževica. From Poljanica to Planina na Kalu took me about half an hour.
From Lanževica fantastic views all around. Crazy. Only a bit too windy to just sit.

Neither at the hut under Bogatin nor at Lepa Komna is anything marked that the path to Planina za Skalo is closed or impassable.

When I went on Thursday along the road past, I immediately saw tape across the path at the start (Pod Zjabci). Almost certainly the reason is mass timber extraction happening right in that section...

Saturday provided excellent weather for visiting Komna, but temperatures were a bit too high. This reflected in unpleasant snow for walking with snowshoes, even more for hikers without any aids. Our goal was Lanževica, which we approached via Lepa Komna. On this path, the snowshoes slipped badly at every slope crossing due to the icy top layer of snow and hard base underneath.

From Lanževica we descended along the ridge path towards Bogatinsko sedlo. This part was excellent for walking and the most enjoyable velik nasmeh. Direct descent from Bogatinsko sedlo towards Gracija was pioneering, as no one had gone there before us. However, hikers during the day trampled an exposed path high in the right slope, which is prone to avalanches. There are quite a few more in the continuation.

The hut under Bogatin was open, on Komna that's standard of course. There were many hikers, but most ended at one of the huts. At the Savica parking lot we got away without parking fee this time nasmeh.
At six in the morning no one is yet collecting the parking fee1

(03.10.2023) Until morning you can only get there through the shadows. (Tolken) From the bridge onwards they're repairing the road and there's a no-entry sign for all vehicles, if anyone walks. We went by another path to below Zjabci. We didn't meet anyone on the whole way. Chamois are standard there. Larches aren't yellowing yet. It was quite windy all the way to the top of Lanževica. The forecasted low clouds at 1700m didn't come true. We had clear and really nice weather.

Darinka - first congrats on the nice trip and cool photos!

You write that "you went by another path to below Zjabci". Is that meant with the car too (but where then, since there's only one road there?) or in the sense that you just walked from Soča?

darinka44. 10. 2023 11:34:43
Lorest, thanks. We didn't even know the road was closed. There are work machines and pipes there that they will put in the ground. In Soča village turn right from Bovec direction over the little bridge and then along gravel road past sparse houses to Pod Zjabci. We didn't even know about this path. There was a sign ahead where they were working on that closed road and we went in the morning to check where the gravel leads. Exactly to Soča village. We returned by vehicle along this gravel path.

We two went on 29.4.2025 from Pod Zjabci past the pasture to Skalo. We knew that quite a lot of snow remains there. We weren't mistaken. If we reach Oslova Škrbina at height 1842 m, we'll be quite satisfied. Actually, we didn't even need navigation, because there were tracks of predecessors. Somewhere to there. The watches showed 1200 elevation meters to Oslova Škrbina. To Lanževica, if we had decided, it would probably take another hour. But given that the snow was soft and we didn't know the conditions, we didn't decide to continue. It will wait for dry conditions. Because then we go on the ridge path, where we haven't been yet, all the way to the top.
