In my opinion, there were chamois on pictures 10, 11, and 13, ibexes on pictures 8 and 25.

On picture 8 there are mouflons, next to the distinct male a female without horns - whereas female ibexes (and young) have them.

I looked closely at pictures 8 and 25 on the computer and it's noticeable that all females are without horns.
So they are probably mouflons. There are probably mouflons also on the second picture of the second post.

Yesterday on Lanževica. Similar conditions as 7 years ago. On the saddle blowing so hard it carries you away. On Komna quite a few hikers, at the start I was a bit more attentive to some things. Cleanliness??? Plastic bottles lying around everywhere, by our parking even shit diapers, really for real... and then we talk about tourism and beauties of our country... disgusting.
But still some pics from the beautiful tour.

Nice pics. Yesterday on Lanževica it already smelled a bit like winter. But that breeze wasn't so strong. velik nasmeh

Me too, yesterday the wind didn't seem overly strong. And the sun warmed strongly and it smelled like snow, the views were cleared of haze... it was a beautiful day. Oh, at Dom na Komni they have a very friendly cat mežikanje

This weekend I'd go check Lanževica, where I've never been, and I'm curious - is the path from Lepena via Bogatinsko sedlo still obvious in the snow now or will some orientation skills be needed? Is via Komna more trodden?

If I'm reading the pics right it's a technically easy hill without special steepness, where ice axe makes no sense in these conditions. Am I right?

I was yesterday (Sunday 30.12.2018.) with 3 friends on Lanževica from Komna. Only one wore crampons. The rest of us had gaiters and poles. We went from Komna to Vratca (Bogatinsko sedlo), then to Lanževica. Back we went via Lepa Komna. The trail is passable. Occasionally there are icy parts which can be bypassed without problems. There were other people on the summit that day. We followed trampled tracks to the summit and back to Komna. From the direction of Krn Lake tracks of walking to Vratca were visible.

At the hut on Komna we met a female mountaineer who was yesterday on Bogatin and Mahavšček. She went there from the hut on Komna via Vratca, and back via Govnjač mountain. She used only crampons.

On Friday (31.5.2019) nice tour to Lanževica. Starting point: hut at Savica. To Bogatinsko sedlo the path is dry. Further, about half an hour walking on snow, which doesn't pose a major obstacle (winter gear not needed). But a bit below Bogatinsko sedlo rockfall across the path. The path offers wonderful views. Didn't meet any mountaineer. Nice mountaineering greeting.

On Tuesday 21.1.2020 a bit after noon we set off towards Komna. No parking fees, but entrance fee towards Savica is collected 9.30–16.00. We had Veriga microspikes with us, but didn't use them, not even on the way back.
To the hut we walked all the time in the shade, the sun warmed us only at the hut, but only for about 15 min, then it set. I think between Vrh Škrli and Migovec. Soon it cooled down, so we slipped into the warm.
Let me praise the caretakers right at the start (both Herman and Boris), who kept us company in the day room. Of course, it wasn't without loud cheering for "our" !!! handball players jezik. On top of that, we won.
The last three young guys headed to the valley soon after sunset and we four remained alone in the hut.
Time until deserved rest passed quickly and we treated ourselves to a room for two, with a view of the "sea" nasmeh.
It was especially useful in the morning when dawn began and we took photos towards the east. We arranged breakfast with the caretaker in the evening and I have to praise them again, they were as accommodating as possible and breakfast was almost as we wanted at the agreed time. And so no one thinks you can be picky with breakfast wishes; we all know what mountain breakfast is like ;-). Hot tea and coffee on top. We had arranged half-board beforehand and instead of dinner we chose lunch. No problem.
At eight we set off from Komna, past the hut below Bogatin towards Bogatinsko sedlo. As soon as we stepped out of the hut, a medium-strong, for this time too warm wind brushed us. After a few minutes it eased, but that day it wasn't done yet.
Once we only reached Vratc and turned back due to bad (winter) conditions. This time we didn't let ourselves.
All the way to the foot of Vratc the path is snowy, sometimes maybe slightly icy, but we put on crampons only right below the last traverse slope, a bit above the info board about WWI. After a short steep section we exit right above the summer path above Vratc, so we see the remains of walls on the saddle from a bit higher.
Immediately after exiting a strong westerly wind awaits us, carrying sharp snowflakes that sting us in all possible facial openings. The wind wasn't cold at all, more annoying in combination with snow.
The further we progressed towards Lanževica summit, the less it blew. Since there's less snow than usual, some markers are visible, we followed footsteps of predecessors that the wind hasn't covered with snow yet and remains of Rapallo border stones.
In good two hours we reach the summit and leave it after a few minutes. Afterwards the wind almost completely stopped, the sun did its thing and despite lack of snow for this season we wanted to find a suitable spot to enjoy the views. We slowed the pace and cornices, snowdrifts, hollows etc. were welcome "props" for posing. Weather was wonderful, the sun literally burned us to Komna. Goal achieved. On the whole path we meet no one. Obviously we chose the right day.
On the way back we take off crampons only a bit before the hut below Bogatin.
When we arrive at the hut on Komna we first treat ourselves to well-deserved cold…
The caretakers cook us an abundant lunch, literally. First we were served mushroom soup. The soup alone would be enough meal with a piece of bread, as it was thick more like chowder or similar. Hats off. Well, then the main course. Then dessert. Unfortunately I couldn't manage more of that zadrega.
At 14 happily to the valley, full bellies and nice feelings.
To the caretakers once again thanks for pleasant company, tasty and abundant food and friendliness. It's a joy to return to such a hut and caretakers.

On Saturday I'd like to go to Lanževica. Haven't been there yet, so wondering if the path is safe in current conditions using small crampons? Is it exposed anywhere? Is the path traceable (both, via the saddle and via Lepa komna)? Thanks. P.

Lanževica is high alpine terrain and there it's best to take crampons and of course 12-point crampons and ice axe. Mainly because of the trampled base. Snow soft some places, hard others. Remember last time at 1800 m one part of path snow pure ice, couldn't stick ice axe in. So without winter gear no way.
