On Tuesday 30.9.2009 I headed to Ledinski vrh. Although the mountain tops were in the sun, it didn't reach me until the saddle. To Ledine I used the Slovenska pot in good condition. On the way to Ledine and further to Ledinski vrh I met no visitors. On Ledinski vrh the sun warmed me for a while, then cold wind took over. This also contributed to me leaving the summit and heading towards Babe on the Austrian side. Because there was some snow, icy in places, and ugly fog embraced Skuto and Kočno, I turned back and went back to the hut at Ledine. Over Žrelo back to the start and ended nice day Branči

Yesterday we headed to Ledinski vrh. Two touring skiers followed behind us but turned back as they couldn't find the hunter's path. We continued towards Baba and reached the first waterfall, where we turned right up the gully which rose impudently at the end. The snow was brittle and the ice axe had almost nothing to hold, but deep down the crampons luckily found some ice so we got out of the gully a bit above the Ledine hut height. When the terrain flattened, the snow crusted so badly we almost turned back, but then conditions improved, at 1900m we hit the sun and soon the summit. On it two skiers from Okrešelj and one dog. Then we sped down to Ledine, searched again unsuccessfully for the hunter's path (250m down and up...) and finally descended via Žrelo back. From Žrelo to the cable car the avalanche debris is covered with 20cm "sugar slush" which hides all unevenness so walking was quite unpleasant. So after nine hours of hiking we were very glad to see the car...

Today I went from Ravenska Kočna via the Slovenian path to Ledine and from there to Ledinski vrh. On the way back I also went to the top of the glacier below Skuta, where I tested crampons and ice axe. I returned through Žrelo back to Ravenska Kočna.

there about 10cm fell, but wind blew it away in places, I'd recommend bringing crampons as everything is icy; tested today. Don't know how it will be in the coming days... yes the hut will be open until end of this month... lp

Today I was on Ledinski vrh from Ravenska Kočna. Snow starts relatively low, maybe at 1300 to 1400m asl. Somewhat icy in places, but no problems. Crampons stayed in the backpack. Where there are drifts, more than 20cm. Otherwise sun, wind and silence, lots of silence. And autumn surprised by winter - colors and feelings.

Yesterday we were on Ledinski vrh from Logarska dolina. There were 4 of us (from Varaždin), 3 went to the summit, but one friend went to Savinjsko sedlo and returned to Okrešelj. Snow starts at 1500m, right after Okrešelj. Somewhat icy in places, but no problems. Crampons stayed in the backpack. What impressed me most was the silence, lots of silence. Rarely do you feel such silence in the Alps. Beautiful. Morning was sunny, but in the afternoon a little snow fell. Tomorrow I'll add more pictures....

Antik, I'm wondering if you tried the shepherd's path from Okrešelj that I described to you last time? L.p.

Unfortunately I didn't try the shepherd's path this time either, although I wanted to badly, but 3 friends with me didn't want, so I went down with them the same way we went up. And I asked at Okrešelj what the shepherd's path is like and Jure told me it's ok and a bit longer and mostly through forest. Plan to take it next time when I go to Okrešelj. And pity we had to go home same day, because up at Okrešelj there were Jure and Beli, roasting chestnuts and drinking must, and a real feast was preparing..

And isn't the shepherd's path closed?

The shepherd's path was closed for quite a while, but this summer it was open, as written on the sign before Savinja spring. I returned via it from Okrešelj. The path crosses transversely over two or three ravines. At one spot in the ravine it's collapsed (barrier of brushwood made) and detour made a bit higher. Before the barrier I went down right instead of left uphill, as I didn't notice markings for left detour. I think it would go without problem directly across the ravine too. Further the path goes through forest, first straight, then in turns down to kiosk. It's quite long, more suitable for down than up. I think they used to drive sheep to Okrešelj here, as normal path probably not. Path also drawn on K.S.Alps map. Worth seeing. L.p.
