Today I went to Lepenatka. Not much snow, but wind conditions surprised me, as east wind was forecasted, on top (NW) northwester was blowing (3-5m/s). Well still could fly. Attaching video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-F5RzGYgbac

Obviously no one, as I was on top today and was the first to sign in the book in the new year. Touring skiers will have to wait this year, as there is only a sample of snow (2-5cm). Weather excellent, sun and windless.

Lepenatka was quite the right choice today. Enough snow for skiing on all possible approaches. Only temperature a bit too high, so snow was quite heavy for skiing.

Conditions quite wintery, snow to knees or a bit more. Maybe smart to take snowshoes with you.

Dušan's first ski touring descent! What to choose? Dušan chose Lepenatka and hit the bull's-eye. Start in Mačkin kot, past Vrbočnik along a nicely groomed track to the pasture. Pure fog on the pasture, which without the nice ski track would have made orientation quite difficult. We were quickly at the saddle and ahead of us Lepenatka in all its glory, about the panorama from the top I won't speak. Skiing conditions so-so. First 100 vertical meters nice skiable snow on hard base, then descent in fog on crust which annoyingly broke through to the pasture. From the pasture through the forest conditions improved a lot and allowed enjoyable zigzagging on narrow cart track to Vrbočnik and then Mačkin kot. No skin track for hikers yet, but we met two on the pasture who tried hard and now probably the track is already pulled to the top. LP Andrej

Andrej inspired me for Lepenatka and I went today, from Vrbočnik fog every five minutes thicker so if not trampled no idea where you are, but cca 50m before top a fairytale such as all mountaineers want, up sun down fog that's the nicest.

On Saturday, 12.03.2011 me, Esther and Tadej climbed to Lepenatka from Gornji Grad.
All the way light southwesterly blowing, from Kal saddle (1285 m) wind stronger, on top everything but friendly, individual southwesterly gusts easily over 100 km/h, otherwise constant around 60-80 km/h, in short properly blew us 
Weather nice though, better views to east, towards Gorenjska all fogged. Lucky no fog on top, but close
Snow conditions: along path still plenty snow (20-50 cm, more in places), especially forest shady spots, summit not much snow (patches).

You can reduce that about wind by some 20 km/h. Wasn't that bad again
