For my last serious trip this year I was drawn to Lepenatka from Podvolovljek, over Mali Rogatec.
A week ago the slopes above Rogačev graben called me so strongly that I couldn't resist the force of the universe pulling me there.
I parked where you can access Cuc on the right side of the graben. Cuc was meant for the end of the trip, so quickly above the graben into the slopes of Grobelski vrh 904m. Avoiding rocky barriers, steeply pathless I puff straight up. Grobelski vrh is quite large for its modest height! From the top I continue towards Mali Rogatec 1228m.
Wide, with ridge markers on trees, the ridge, very steep towards the top, brings me to little Rogatec's brother. The summit is beautiful! Adorned with juniper, solitary and remote, forgotten in the shadow of its higher and more attractive brother, it has something its brother doesn't!
I descend too quickly, and head to the wooded Kunšperski vrh 1336m, there I join the marked path to Lepenatka, today's highest point. Views are nice, weather too warm, thaw has come.
I descend to Kal, then along the officially closed path past Riharska hojka. If it wasn't passable, I had plan B, but longer. I descend quickly, wet snow pulls me down. To Riharska hojka the path is good, then a large part of difficult terrain, so the closure is justified! Once I break through fallen trees and partly destroyed sections, I step onto a nice forest path, which I leave lower down, and soon I'm where I gratefully rest and refresh - at the Cuc waterfall. The trip couldn't end better. Beautiful spots! Good luck!
