Lučki Dedec - 2023m

Print
geppo5. 07. 2008 18:13:44
Today 5.7.08 we drove to Planina Podvežak. By 7:30 the parking lot was already full of cars. The road is in pretty bad condition (lots of gullies from storm water). No problem for off-roaders, but other vehicles need some caution when driving!!
We headed towards Korošica. When we spotted Dedec in the mist, we decided for it. When we saw the Korošica amphitheater, we didn't descend into it, but continued on the higher path (towards the path coming from Velika Planina).
When the paths join, we continued to the saddle where the path to Dedec branches off.
The path is occasionally marked with cairns but no panic, the path is not difficult or orientationally demanding. The rock is grippy, full of holds and steps, and compact. Real pleasure to climb to the top. There are actually three summits and each offers nice views. We were at the first summit at 10 o'clock and a few minutes.
We returned by feel and enjoyed the pathless terrain and wonderful nature. The path is not precipitous and is suitable for all experienced hikers - but it's a little-visited mountain. Views, nature, wonderful and complete peace.

Yesterday from Podvežak pasture, along hunting path (path on western slopes of Lastovec) ascended to Lučki Dedec.
Said hunting path joins marked path from Podvolovjek at Stare stale, continued to Prag pass. Then left to Lučki Dedec on varied path (higher some off-trail), "equipped" with many cairns.
Return usual path past Kocbekov dom.

Hey, was the 9th pic taken a bit below Presedljajem? I chose the same motif Thursday actually.

On Saturday I headed to Lučki Dedec. Circular tour. Along the marked path to Presedljaj and further to the branch for Lučki Dedec. Up to here I felt like walking through the Amazon rainforest, it was so humid and wet, especially with a lot of bushwhacking. Otherwise it was quite pleasant. Every now and then mists came in, otherwise the sun was shining. From Lučki Dedec I continued towards Vršiči and found a suitable passage for descent towards Šraj pesek and further to Skok. Since it would be optimistic to expect Skok to be dry after a not very good weather week, I had a rope with me of course. Well, it really wasn't dry. Very Happy then descent to Orglic and return to start. A nice mountaineering Saturday outing.

P.S. A bit above Skok I noticed "marks" similar to those in Žagani peči about which there was quite some talk. Maybe someone knows where they lead? I followed them across the gully into the forest, where they disappeared. Up to there a path was visible.

Yes, those "marks" were there already in summer. Besides all that you posted, I found one with letters NŠ myself. Based on that I assume they show the path to Najnar štant.

Wonderful autumn outing in nice weather from Za loncem direction and arrival at Dedec. After a long time I managed to do the following: lie on dry grass, first choose a suitable spot in shelter and sun and let thoughts go ...
Let the pictures tell their story.

Today from Planina Podvežak I headed towards Korošica. After two hours of walking I climbed over Durc to Lučki Dedec in wonderful autumn weather. I descended pathless over Prag and then along the hunting path under the Lastovec wall to the car.
Descent to Prag is relatively easy due to plenty of cairns, in fog though... Below the Lastovec wall it's more demanding (also pathless), as you need to cross the west wall, which is exposed in two places.

Is there any special feature on this path at this time?

Biser gora
I don't understand what special feature? If there's snow, conditions will change accordingly. From Podvežak to Lučki Dedec no problems even with a few cm of snow.. On the described hunting path under Lastovec there might be. Otherwise it doesn't pose problems in normal conditions, at least for somewhat experienced on such paths!!

Well, I'd say the path in the opposite direction is considerably more demanding, since above the Brežiči hunting hut the path is barely visible, or rather not there. You can tell they cleared the forest and after logging it's full of fallen trees, so the path isn't visible. You need some sense of orientation.

As it seems, this will be my last dedec I climbed this year. I visited Kamniški, waved to Kranjski today, the one without addition under Mokrica is not yet planned. There are four dedci (maybe more?) hiding above Kamniška Bistrica and if Kugy had walked more in Kamniške and less in Julijske Alpe, we would have a beautiful record of today's path, romantic for winter days. Even as "beginners" in mountains my eyes stopped at descriptions of Gamsov skret, Žmavčarje, Šraj pesek and Najnar štant. Names that invite, but then quickly tell you it's not for everyone. Well, Šraj pesek and Skok in connection with Lučki dedec have been tempting for a long time, today the thought made sense (borrowedzavijanje z očmi) and it was time to listen. Park at the start for Presedljaj. Along marked path about half an hour, now it's fully forest road, to the branch for Orglice waterfall. No sign for Orglice, but red signs for Presedljaj and Ojstrica pointing opposite. Along well-trodden path to the stream bed, above which is the waterfall. Just before the stream on well visible path up, then after 50m (normal, not elevation) left across stream uphill (cairn). Here the path is a bit less visible but well followable, winds steeply uphill, after about ten minutes of steep almost wide hunting path starts. Follow it left, where it crosses gully and ascends nicely on left side (looking up) for a while, then crosses gully to right and again knee-gnawing up. Few minutes after this crossing on right we see the velb. Follow path to skok, very close to velb at about 1100m. Here no messing around. I went up more or less in the middle, pegs whatever they are (really more like something) are still the only thing to grab with fingernails, skok is II or more, and pegs for abseil are not there for nothing. But skok has good property: every few meters a ledge, so you don't fall all the way when at the top velik nasmeh. Well, no joking, today almost dry, in wet it must be yuck and nasty. From skok onward on left side of gully, well visible path brings us knee-gnawing under walls. Where the path from Najnar štant joins I didn't see, only one cairn might point to it a bit. Then left again, up scree, always by walls, short rocky jump awaits (maybe I), then almost at saddle. Below are Petkove njive, we go right again under walls, catch path, to Durce (saddle) left to top. That the views are exceptional I had to take on someone's word, because there were none (fog). Down along the path leading straight from the top, I recommend sticking to the right, because it led me a bit left and I almost climbed to Korošica. Well I didn't, went back, to the right, well cairned, joins marked path from Korošica to Presedljaj. Marked path would need a chainsaw or two, very overgrown, sometimes you think you're off track again. Sorry, couldn't shorten it. Rating? Surprised me easy orientation (in doubt always left) and difficulty of skok (harder than I thought). Well, it worked out.nasmeh

The previous picture is not the start, but already above the waterfall. Can't be corrected. Well, this is Velb.2
JUMP. It seemed to me somewhat that down there it wouldn't go this way.3
in the guidebook it says alpinist escort. but for one eng rope does the whole dedec need to be along or what? it went without too, although the rope would have been happy, no4
Not for nothing there. This is already the upper stance for abseil (I think that's what it's called)5
path under the walls towards Šraj pesek6

Šraj pesek in all its beauty. Half an hour (2x) torture. Šrajat=make noise, rampage; Carinthian?8
stone barrier, not problematic. Straight up.9
This was looking at me. Like a Martian. A bit scary.10
At the right entrance (Glava?) there is a saddle, straight across the saddle up to the path (view back)11
If it's visible in fog, also in sun. Well-visible path under walls towards Durce.12
Durce, here we arrive at meadows between both summits of Lučki Dedec. Left to the first.13
this is to freak out. See the shoe? View down, probably deep if visible. Seems sheer drop.14
Little man on top, unfortunately without my g.... won't do.15
The cairns diligently show the way to the other side. Who misses their hat?16

Well, to show you another grandpa: this one is Kranjski, left Konj. Passed by, enough grandpas for today18

Bravo, Lidija. Hike and a half. mežikanje

Hehe, that 'marsovec'. Oh yes, memories ...

Through it I crawled years ago via a found passage below Staničev vrh over the long-abandoned Zelenica pasture, which gives the Zeleniške Špice their name, to Šraj pesek. Darkness chased me hard (after-work rush), while I was neck-deep in scree! velik nasmeh
Well, it all turned out well in the end. Having forgotten my headlamp at home, I was forced to hurry a bit through Najnar štant. mežikanje
Finally, there was still the ascent to Jermanca to the car. Of course in the dark.

Regards and good luck.

It's really a nice hike, if visibility were better, there would be one less worry for the first time. Despite attention, I didn't see where the entrance to Najnar štant is. I checked the spot a bit where the path from the jump almost approaches the walls and a cairn stands by the rock step, but it didn't seem quite sensible there for the entrance. Nothing trodden was visible either, except with a bit of imagination. Then higher up, already from the scree, it seemed to me I saw a path, but it looked more like it leads into the left gully. Gotta find it sometime. Where the entrance from the other side is, I've already located, even though yesterday there was no cairn there anymore. Volk, you know these ends very well, I think mežikanjeIf you found it at night...

Volk, thanks. Gotta stick nose in there. Tell me just, in which direction is path easier to find or follow? from here or reverse, so first up marked then turn left? Najnar štant - any connection to 9, God knows. With hunters I know it has.zavijanje z očmi
