Nice, Tone, as always. And weren't you perhaps already tired at the last picture.

I can't turn it at all, Boštjan. The old transfer system (FastStone) from phone to comp crashed on me and I figured out a variant myself (that's why images took so long to upload) which doesn't allow upright pics. I need to get the grandson to fix it, otherwise I'll post the tour longer than it took to do it.

@lijaneja: if it maybe helps. Simply rotated the pic with Win 10 standard program. Admin: will delete post in one day, not disturb content

Thank you very much, Zdravko! Incredible what a real expert can fix.

@lijaneja: with greatest pleasure. Maybe you don't know how often your descriptions and pics helped people like me. Usually forget to thank. Anyway; more of your posts and pics - even if some a bit sideways

Thanks again, Zdravko. Besides the enjoyment of nature, I also enjoy posting and hope to have enough 'material' for at least another year. Thanks to you too, Kostja. I could have taken care of it on Wednesday too, but it didn't even cross my mind. Maybe it would have been different if I had read the old report before the tour.

Since we're already on the Mala Martuljška Ponca page: also with the help of photos and descriptions on this website, I went (and returned) to MMP in 2019. At that time I also left my track here (in the GPS tracks tab). https://www.hribi.net/gps_sled/konec_gozdne_ceste_parkirisce_-_mala_martuljska_ponca_mala_martuljska_ponca/702 You can see what kind of mountaineer I am from the line or track where I walked Nevertheless, I hope it helped someone. Tone: your sentence caught my eye: " Down veeery slowly, because the left knee is completely in th..." I assume you have a worn knee. I had similar problems myself, especially on descents. The next year I had surgery and got an "artificial" knee (total endoprosthesis). And now I walk much, much easier than before. If you have a similar situation - I hope everything will be fine. The GPS track also shows that on the way back I went to the Three Larches. Then partly because of the knee and also because I didn't know or dare to go further down, I returned over the scree to Kotle and descended to the valley. Kostja: you mention that you went down past the Three Larches. Do you have any more photos or can you write (or someone else), where and on which side is the most suitable descent from the Three Larches. The logbook was already quite poor in 2019. Thanks for the renovation.

I descended to the right of the Three Larches (looking downhill), at first some rocks and scree, but soon the terrain flattens and a nice path leads through the bushes down to the lower part of the Za Ak basin.

If the approach to the 3 larches is not known to you, it would probably be better to do it from the Za Ak direction. Then complete the entire tour to MMP with descent over Kotle, whose course you already know. When you reach Za Ak, head to the right fork of the scree and almost to the end. Turn left onto the dwarf pine slope towards Široka peč, where the path between and along the pines is clearly visible. A little above the two memorial plaques the path ends. Continue into the gully under Široka peč, where there was a recent rockfall. After the fall, left of the gully on compacted scree where above you find the remains of a path leading towards the rocky bulge. Over it towards the gully, find the easiest passage and reach the basin under the Široka Peč wall. There it's not good to linger too long… Across the basin to the right and on the slope find remains of the path or suitable ledges that bring you to the wooded ridgelet right under the larch with the logbook. Descent on these scree ledges is more awkward than ascent. And once again … don't hang around in that basin! Good luck!

@funnyboy: exactly like that I tried too. I stuck to the right side looking down. I also saw that path further on, but I wasn't sure - neither about the way to it, nor about myself. So I turned back. @Kostja: thanks for the description. But, as I wrote, I was at MMP and on the way back I also reached the Three Larches. I just didn't find the descent from the Three Larches. Did you go down like funnyboy wrote, or is there another path.

From the larches descend into the gully right below them, where you go down a bit and cross to the adjacent edge. It is really a short section, then everything is clear. But if returning from MMP, it's even easier to bypass the larches and stick to the lower path that diagonally gently crosses everything. Easier orientation and scree-wise.

lynx; I heard about that diagonal variant. But then I was already at the larches, it was also the second half of September and I had to watch out not to get caught by night. So it seemed safest to return on the known path. Thanks for the tip - I'll definitely go up there again and check all these variants.

Does anyone have any knowledge of the existence of a possible passage between Špik and MMP that is not that direct crossing along the ridge, which Juš wrote about a few years ago, but say some somewhat manageable pathless crossing? The idea is to connect Špik with Oltar, where this part between Špik and MMP is currently the only unknown.

I think you won't get a useful answer from the hikers here. For us, Špik is one, Mala Ponca another mountain, and at least I can't imagine a direct connection between them, since the difficulty exceeds the fourth grade. Ask on the alpinism forum, maybe someone there has had a similar idea. Good luck!
