On my mountain paths I always look around for these monuments of the cruel WWII on our soil. You just can't understand that they killed even right before the end of the war when it was known for some time that they were the losers. There were thousands of partisan victims. All over Slovenia these bitter memories are scattered.

Unfortunately the killings didn't end after the war either. Bitter memories yes...
On the summit of Golčaj stands a memorial to the fallen fighters of the Radomeljska četa1

My great-grandfather is also listed on a similar plaque as killed by the occupier, but we all know his own comrades killed him. Just because he was religious and went to church. Three-quarters of those listed on that plaque, the locals don't even know, even though by surnames they should be from those places. These are myths and legends about partisan fights.

Monument in the village Boneti on the Italian side dedicated to partisans - we didn't go closer.1
These are monuments in the village Sela on the Karst.2
