Becar, static IP in the form 192.*.*.*, huh?

Anyway, public educational institutions aren't just universities and at least for two such networks (one at elementary school and another at one of the faculties) I can assure you that at least twenty different computers access via one IP number wink

Let's leave aside the case where one user can log in from multiple IPs, as it's irrelevant for our case.

But when multiple users log in from one IP, it would quickly be determined if it's one or more persons. If 2 colleagues sit in the same office, they'll know that both are logged in on hribi.net. I think for an expert it wouldn't be difficult at all. As far as I know, the police can also find you based on the used IP, of course if they have a warrant. And don't tell me they then interrogate the whole company? big grin

Zebdi is right, we don't access various portals only from personal computers, among others he forgot to mention libraries too..

But I have to praise čebelca for this one ;

"Once again I ask the admin to consider the proposal. Most people on this forum know each other anyway. Here we write about conditions in the mountains, anonymity is completely unnecessary. It might even be bad, given that it's always said that people don't know who writes what and thus follow advice from strangers who can put them in danger."

Although I often feel unnecessary cynicism or even spitefulness in her comments, I have to give her a big plus for this!

As for me, if I say something publicly in "real life" as FS, then I see no reason to hide on the net under some "nicks"

To find out those users who distribute minuses from multiple usernames, I suggest to the administrators the following:

Next to every comment, there should be a display of usernames that gave pluses or minuses to that comment. Let it be publicly visible who agrees or disagrees with whom. In democracy, disagreement is no shame.

Some portals already have such a solution, so (and of course by healthy logic) I consider that there is nothing illegal here.

For me it's extremely fascinating how some "worry" if someone has two profiles open or not.. and if I understand correctly the problem is only in "hot topics" and who distributes pluses and minuses to whom and god forbid if someone gives them to himself... Personally I "don't care" if someone has 10 open... and thumbs up or down aren't the measure of our life.. or are they?

Zebdi, I meant the case if you buy a router at home and don't set a fixed IP, then it is dynamically distributed, depending on who uses the access first. But probably in some companies or educational institutions they don't do that. Or do they?

Ah come on, it's not so much about the number of pluses and minuses. It's about there being one part of users capable of quality argued discussions, which I often read with pleasure...

...and another part of users who have multiple usernames, they are on the portal only for provoking, insulting, giving themselves more pluses and someone only minuses. That's clear to me as daylight.

There was a case when two spoke exactly the same, one got 5 pluses, I got ONLY minuses. And then 6 users contacted me via ZS saying they gave me +, but I was still in minus big grin Because someone was insulting me right then via multiple usernames, it was all clear to me. However, I won't publish the names, that's the admin's job.

I believe the image rating system on this portal is most likely something special, since the admin probably realized there are users who give purely out of spite only negative ratings from multiple usernames. Therefore it was announced that the voting weight on images isn't equal for all users.

Think a bit, and you'll realize it's not conspiracy theories, but moral societal decay.

obviously for you the problem is pluses and minuses .....and stars too ...since you write about that ..and of course arguing

Becar, those are IP addresses of computers in the local network, not on the internet. They do have static ones, yes. It's the same in a home network, where, as you mentioned, you buy a router and have preset dynamic assignment of (internal) IP addresses. In this case the home computer upon connecting to the network will get an IP assigned by the router (and it will in 99% of cases start with 192.168.*.*), but externally it will still be visible with the router's IP address. You can also set static IPs at home, say 192.168.1.1 for the first computer, 192.168.1.2 for the second and 192.168.1.3 for the third, but all three computers will be visible on the internet with IP e.g. 212.102.34.5 (IP assigned by the internet provider).

Example of malice

Here you have an example where @PFranci posted undoubtedly wonderful photos and @JTrogar a bit lower noticed that someone gave the lowest possible rating to all photos and correctly concluded that someone doesn't have everything in order in their head.

Obviously he did it from multiple usernames, because the ratings started improving only after 20 and more votes.

See, these things really bother me and always will. That's why I'll strive for public exposure of such scoundrels.

I wouldn't be surprised if the number of real users was 20-30% less than the number of usernames.

this giving minuses is otherwise really the lowest of the low an... If spite were burning... But unlike you it doesn't bother me, since I don't upload pics so some idiot lowers their rating, but because I share them with others. And I'll upload many more!winking

Why did I open this thread? Because of the cyclists in mountains thread

- It didn't bother me that someone gives me only minuses, but this time the victim was the serial minus distributor @VanSims, next time someone else and so on. I DID NOT ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE IN THE THREAD, so you @Daaam can't accuse me that it's about how many pluses I'll have.

- Juš, I wasn't talking about my photos, but about @PFranci's photos

My wish is that those to whom honesty still means something realize that there are some users up here to clean out.

Instead of settling with such scoundrels, we argue among ourselves like left and right. How typical for our society.
