The nicest thing is to revive memories of beautiful ridge traverses. In the Julijci we have quite a few. Popular is the traverse from Rodica to Črna prst, which can actually be started directly with the gondola and chairlift, which in summer brings you to Orlova glava. Then we go to the Plato draglift station and from there under the Šija summit to the left across Zadnja Suha, across the saddle Čez Suho, somehow avoiding the summit of Mala Rodica, and climb to Rodica as our, say, starting point. I went on this traverse a bit differently. I came to Rodica via planina Poljane, planina Suhe along unmarked trails and off-trail directly to the summit of Rodica. Then follows a pleasant almost three-hour traverse to Črna prst. We pass by Suha Rodica, Raskovca, Matajurski vrh, Poljanski vrh, Konjski vrh, Četrti. Finally we reach the saddle Vrata, which is already near Črna prst. Of course, I don't distinguish these summits except Šija, Rodica and Črna prst. From Črna prst we can descend to planina pod Liscem and from there to Bohinjska Bistrica. For the return the day is quite short; ideally go with two cars and at least in two, so one leaves it at the lower station of the gondola cableway, the other in Bohinjska Bistrica. I had medium weather - not too hot - went mid-summer.

This is how I went along unmarked trails and off-path towards Poljani pasture.

This sub-pasture ended with a waterhole. It could be seen that livestock from Poljane pasture comes here to drink.

I don't know exactly, it could be Poljanski vrh on the right, Konjski vrh on the left.

Thus the peaks to the left of the mule track leading to Suha pasture are seen.

This is the peak on the right side above Suho pasture.

Already towards the foot of Suha pasture.

To the left of the foot, some object is visible on an elevation, but I didn't see it up close.

Rodica is rarely photographed like this.

What about that grassy peak in the middle, I don't know either.

From Rodica along the ridge path to Črna prst, first below the summit of Suha Rodica, then left on the right rocky terrain below Raskovec summit.

The path ahead leads along the left side below Matajurski vrh summit, if I'm not mistaken.

Then I walked over all these peaks or around them. I don't know the names. About ten pictures here.

Črna prst is already visible from Četrt summit, in between is Vrata saddle.

The ridge traverse is quite long, but beautiful,

I'm not such an artist of photography and graphics like Tone, but still. The most beautiful memory remains the conquest of Triglav. Here is one of my ascents to Triglav via Plemenice. I won't subtitle the pictures, let them speak for themselves.

I'm quite in love with Poliške Špike. Of course, I don't give them preference over Slovenian mountains. Unfortunately, my little pictures from last year from the summer season disappeared due to a computer failure. On the Ceria-Merlone path, I made 200 shots. I met a herd of fifty male ibex on this path—they didn't move from the path at all—I bypassed them carefully and slowly. I must repeat this this year. I just need to catch nice weather. The king of Poliške Špike is undoubtedly Montaž, which stays with you forever in your memory.

Beautiful memories of the Bogatin-Kuk traverse. How to start—best at Savica, to Komna, to Bogatinsko sedlo and there to the left and we're at the start. Already to here we walk quite a bit. This is a tour for a whole nice summer day. How back—I if possible don't go the same way. Behind Škrbina go to planina Pod Migovcem, true the planina is visible under the path, then can go via planina Govnjač back to Dom na Komni, or before planina Govnjač turn right on the shorter path to the hut. This can be a traverse, without any rock climbing fun, nothing precipitous—suitable for every mountaineer if they have enough fitness. But no water in between, we need enough liquid with us. Otherwise I didn't catch the sunniest day, but at least it wasn't too hot, otherwise it can be very hot in mid-summer. Worth starting from Savica very early. I started via Komarče past Black Lake, which is especially magical in the early morning, to Komna, just so I don't go twice over those 49 serpentines.

I like going to two bivouacs from Suhadolnik from Kokra. These are bivouac under Kočna and bivouac under Grintavec. Bivouac under Kočna recently celebrated 60th anniversary and I visited it on that day. Usually I go to Grdi graben and over Spodnji Dolci—beautiful chamois pastures and then to Ovnov čer to Cojzovo back. This anniversary even the weather celebrated. Only this wasn't the usual access to bivouac under Kočna. It was the hunting path to Suhi Dol where a friendly hiker led me. I wouldn't have found this passage myself.
