15.6.2024 Ojstrica
Road to Podveža still in fairly good condition. Here and there a ditch from rainwater - drive slowly over. Parking at Podveža as usual quite full all day. Path to Kocbek shelter and on over Mala Ojstrica to Ojstrica without issues.
Wind, mist, sun, bit of everything.

Descent to Korošica where permanent duty started today. mežikanje

Continue past Vodotočnik, over Lastovec and past LK to car.

Yesterday's impressions from nice circular path. From Podveža to Molička planina then to Mala Ojstrica. Along ridge to Ojstrica summit. Descent towards Korošica planina and back to start. Nice path with wonderful views. On descent to Korošica much gravel on path, careful not to slip.

After over a year back there. Long drive, gravel section worse to Podvežak. To Mala Ojstrica and Ojstrica, all warm and hot, no wind at all, no rain but felt heat stress in the air. Descent to Korošica, caution needed on descent from summit. Then up to Prag, Deska and under Lastovec back to start.

Beautiful autumn day in mountains.

Today tour Podvežak - Veliki Vrh - Molička planina - Ojstrica via Mala Ojstrica - descent to Korošica - over Prag and past Vodotočnik to saddle up past Deska and Tolsti vrh back to start.

Path without issues. Road to parking OK. Whole way pleasantly warm, except Ojstrica summit.
Some visitors today, noticeable as only nice day for days back and ahead per forecast.

"Shortcut" from chapel at Molička planina direct up to ridge below Mala Ojstrica well visible. Path trodden, passages between rocks comfortable. Few nice scrambles there.

Dense fog in the valleys. On Veliki vrh however morning sunbathing in short sleeves, with view to Snežnik far south.

Direct from chapel to ridge. Here a bit of climbing is needed.

I don't have a watch that measures exactly, but according to the app it's about 15 km and 1520m elevation gain total, so not really excessive. jezik

The drive from Vrhnika to the starting point seemed longer to me, especially on a workday and during the morning rush hour. zavijanje z očmi

But it's exceptionally beautiful and varied, that's for sure! nasmeh

@lijaneja: sorry, didn't go to check. At Korošica we just sat on the bench for a bit, aired our legs and continued… mežikanje

Ojstrica, 3.11.2024

Forecast was cloudy, so we headed somewhat skeptically to Logarska dolina, but camera at Kamniško sedlo showed sun waiting for us at 1800 m.a.s.l.

Path to Klemenča jama was slightly uncomfortable uphill due to wet leaves, but downhill it was all dry. From Klemenča jama to junction nice ascent. At split for Škarje/Kopinškovo sign says 3h 45min to Kopinška, which by my estimate is very exaggerated since we took less than 4 hours from Dom planincev to summit. So don't let that sign scare you. More realistic time on hribi.net.

At Škrbina fog cleared to sun and finally the nice part of climbing began. Didn't need or miss SVK. Wouldn't hurt for vertigo sufferers, but only in one spot. As you like. Descent via Škarje, where last climb 10 min to saddle then back into fog. Descent dry and constantly "pounding" knees.

Overall wonderful views, path well maintained and marked. Recommend nasmeh

A couple days before garmont's visit...conditions similar, planned route similar...only Vodotočnik I see getting more winter-like each day velik nasmeh

4.2.2025: Ojstrica
The icy road to Vodol completely cleared our heads before the start of the tour. To Vodol still in the dark, but there the morning sun was already shining on Desko. Walking conditions were quite good. We slowly progressed towards Korošica and enjoyed the beautiful views. During the stop at the burnt hut, acquaintances passed by on touring skis. I almost regretted a bit that mine stayed in the car. We decided to try towards Ojstrica. Up to the last steep section below the summit the conditions for ascent were good, but the last steep part was quite icy. So there wasn't much talking on the way to the summit, we had to concentrate well. Not even the very strong wind could spoil the joy of reaching the summit. We decided to descend via Mala Ojstrica. Nice and strenuous. My calves were already burning quite a bit. No western capercaillie this time on the way back.
Vinko, thanks for the company on this beautiful tour.

Nice days just invite you to the mountains, yesterday I chose Ojstrica. The morning temperature in Kamniška Bistrica, where Darko and I started just before six, was pleasant, but the problem was that even in the high mountains it hadn't dropped below zero overnight. The result was soft snow that started somewhere halfway between Presedljaj and Korošica.
But nicely in order. Only one car in the Pred Belo parking lot. Since it was wet from dew, it suggested it had been there since yesterday – so no crowd on the trail today nasmeh

Soon above the turnoff for Orglice we were stopped by impassable fallen trees, we weren't paying attention to the new bypass trail. We descended all the way to Orglice and there along a trail I know, though barely visible, we got back on the path above the fallen trees and landslide. The trail to Presedljaj drags on, even though I've walked it countless times. Because Darko had problems, we parted at the 1613m saddle, I reached the burnt hut at Korošica in 54 minutes. Changed clothes, put on gaiters and immediately up the slope above the hut. Because of the soft snow I only put on crampons at the second turnoff for Škarje, when the steepness increases strongly. I didn't have them on long, as above the saddle it continues mostly on dry rocky terrain, where I easily reached the summit. No tracks, no mountaineer anywhere, all alone I enjoyed the summit of this beautiful mountain. Warm, again this time mists were forming in the distance, like two days earlier on the Obstoržiška tour, the only thought chasing me was that the snow was getting softer and I had to get down as soon as possible. As we returned from Kocbek towards Prag, numerous small avalanches were already releasing in the steep gullies of Ojstrica. On the way back a visit to Bržič and Orglice, I ended an extremely pleasant day in the Volčji Potok arboretum.

Nature is relentless and here it showed all its power.
