as I already wrote, I believe almost all who love nature and mountains also love little animals, right? and I also believe many dogs are more experienced than people when it comes to hiking and climbing, but still I think you have to take proper care of your pet. both for its and people's safety.
after all I have a dog too and can say it's our family member. in nature among people, there are rules for it and they must be respected.
best regards

I was just interested how the story ended, if the owner carried the dog on the difficult part of the trail, nothing else, thanks for explanation, ... but no more discussing, last year there was a veeeeery long debate on 'DOGS IN MOUNTAINS OR NOT', please don't start again!
Nice greetings!

here I am back from that "hell" velik nasmeh
at 5am I head from home towards Podvežak, once had to get out of car to clear big rocks from road. When I arrive at Podvežak still quite dark, get ready in car cuz outside too coldvelik nasmeh damn wind was howling terribly; even car was rocking back and forth so I realized probably won't make summit, not in these conditions... snow starts already near Podvežak. Finally crawl to Kocbek hut, on the way strong wind gusts tossed me around like pingpong ball! caretaker all happy I kept her company as I was the only one up there. She said she's going home Thursday and never experienced such wind. During day it stabilized quite but still didn't go to Ojstrica; wind was still whipping it! about 10cm snow but some blown away some up to kneevelik nasmeh way back was pure idyll sun and first snowflakes accompanied me. PS road up was all icy so thought of putting on crampons but barely managed. sorry for this essay if too longvelik nasmeh

MAVHAR, what if you try to write this text at least in approximately understandable Slovenian, but about everything else I won't even talk. The text isn't even too long, but ...
let these dots tell you the rest.

I went today only to Mala Ojstrica, snow starts above 1600-1700 meters.
Some went to the top despite the snow, but I was firmly convinced it's not worth continuing since I can visit Ojstrica next year without snow, otherwise people aren't eternal mountains are.

How is it to climb Kopinškova in current conditions?
Probably a bit more snow on the north side, but there's not much anywhere yet anyway.

I'm also interested in conditions, specifically from Planina Podvežak. Worth going this weekend on this tour or is the path icy, weather for now looks very nice?

Everything depends on how capable you are of walking in such conditions as snow; some of it these days must have melted anyway.
Meteorologists are predicting quite cold weather for the end of the weekend, so it will freeze.
Still, I advise you to go; I myself didn't know if I'd reach the top until I got to Mala Ojstrica, where I saw that it wouldn't be possible to go further to Koroščica, but no problem.
I met an Englishman who was lost. I was just a bit above the Korošica valley when this Englishman comes down from Mala Ojstrica and asks me if that mountain is Ojstrica. I said yes, then I went ahead sideways while he went straight up pathless, probably following two hikers who were going to Ojstrica.
Maybe this will help you.

Visit to Ojstrica!
A bit late because we searched the whole valley for fresh rolls (holiday, all bakeries closed). In some butcher shop we then succeeded with bread and off to Podvežak.

At 8:20 to the hunting hut and Lastovec. The first people we meet are collecting branches in the burned shrubbery for decoration. With a little imagination you collect various shapes that represent many things. Next summit is Deska and then we descend via game trails to the marked path (Podvežak - Korošica).
Next goal is the ridge towards Ojstrica. We meet the first visitors and on Mala Ojstrica some are already stamping. The path along the ridge, despite snow patches, proceeds without problems. At the summit there is already a pleasant group, with whom we more or less traversed the ridge together.
We take photos, bask a bit in the sun (fantastic view) and then towards Korošica. We follow the footsteps in the snow of the group ahead and soon encounter a slightly more tricky spot (risk of slipping). They went a bit too low but no problem - we slowly overcome this difficulty too. When we reach the grass from the snow patches, we lie down for a snack (also for the jackdaws that loudly draw attention to themselves).
No one at Korošica and we continue. The path starts to drag and fatigue (for two of us) is already entering our legs. At 15:40 we are back at the parking lot (Podvežak). Gear in the trunk and home.
Warning: the north side (Kopinškova pot) looked very icy towards the summit and still quite snowy. I think it's only for experienced and equipped people!!

I wasn't there!!
but around 10cm there, if you go along the ridge like we did on 31.10.09. The ascent shouldn't pose problems. It's the southern side and check my photos from Sunday (Okrešelj), now the situation is much better (warm sunny days).
Lp and have fun!!

I was on Ojstrica today. Snow poses no problems, although it varies from completely frozen to very wet. Nice day. Strange that I met only two mountaineers. Some photos for illustration.
Regards.

Today I went to Ojstrica and didn't reach it jezik because right below the summit the snow stability isn't safe, it's soaked to the end!
I assume it would be easier to the top from Kocbekov dom up, but I went via Mala Ojstrica nasmeh
But anyway, Ojstrica will still be there for some other time, when it's time for such ventures again.
Weather was fantastic, almost hot for the season.
Attaching a few more photos, but not the best quality (Nokia N73) nasmeh

Hi Jure S. I'm wondering if it's dangerous due to avalanche or something else. How much snow is there? I plan to go up tomorrow morning. Lp Matjaž
