Update from today: Hike Last meadow - Olševa has some light snow on the path until the part where view opens to remaining mountains. From there on dry. Snow maybe a few cm, no problem in low hiking boots without crampons. Downhill minimal slipping, poles help velik nasmeh

Trail mainly dry, just some patches in shade only. Summit whitened, checked today myself but with wife. Lp

Today from Slemena towards Govca.
Since it wasn't trodden, the approach to the ridge over the snowdrifts was tiring, and so it was until the junction with the path from Ošovnik, there I stepped on the footprints.
Wind was moderate, at times strong. It took 3 hours to the top, descent in the direction of the approach.

In winter time, I always take snowshoes with me, without them I've already gotten properly tired. You know what interests me, whether any tree has fallen across the path. I'm heading to Olševa, so I'd take appropriate tools with me. Lp. JanezS.

At two places the wind has bent some trees, so I expect that they will fall across the trail under the weight of the snow. Also lubader is active.

Does anyone perhaps know how it would be to go to the top of Olševa these days, is there still snow?

Olševa invited to a great trip today! For the ascent, we choose the hunting path along the southern slopes.
Snow remains on the northern side, the southern side is bare. Good luck!

a comfortable path leads us deeper into the world of Olševa

to the edge and further along the picturesque ledge

past this tooth, then steeply upwards where about 100 meters higher we step onto the marked path, there at the saddle between the Obel kamna ridge and Govce

from the saddle we steeply descend to the north side, the snow here is compacted

at this lonely sentry box we step onto the hunting path, which after a longer traverse brings us to Foršnerca

Yesterday from Zg. Ošovnik to Govca and further to Oblega kamna.
Markings renewed (according to my last visit), the path is still so steep nasmeh

, but for me the most beautiful ascent to Govca.
From a local I also learned about some interesting hunting paths. Probably one is already mentioned above nasmeh

In the morning we park under Rogar farm. Along the road to Strevc tourist farm. Behind the farm towards Olševa. Across the clearcut where there once was a nice spruce forest we climb the hill. The blame for the devastation and degradation of the terrain lies with storm disasters, of which there are more and more. I won't wait for the forest to return as it was.
In the remaining forest there are still many fallen trees lying across the path. But no problems crossing if you're a bit more agile. At the windows we linger a bit, take photos and head up the steep slope towards Obel kamen. Along the way I visit the cave where I found (13.6.2009) a wooden trough for catching water dripping in the cave. The trough still exists, quite worn by the tooth of time. At Obel kamen we rest a bit after quite a steep climb, which was additionally muddy and slippery in the last part. We continue along the ridge to Govce. Along the lower path back towards Potočka zijalka. We don't stop too long and continue the descent to the starting point under Rogar farm.
Here we decide to also do Strevčeva peč and again back towards the church. Past the church through the forest and up the steep Strevčeva peč. At the top we are properly sweaty from the steepness and sun. We take some shots and head for a cold beer at Strevčeva tourist farm. We really earned it!
