... Rateče - Tromeja... You can get everywhere. The Tromeja hut was also open. There was a notice on the signpost. Then the shorter path through the forest and the longer one around by the road. The ski slope is operating too. Quite a lot of snow on top. Nice sunny day, only the mountains were hidden in the hazenasmeh
- The road is not plowed, but widely groomed1
- Foggy view of the mountains2

Majdag, on Sunday I plan to go up there, I'm interested because I haven't been there, is there any avalanche danger anywhere, what's the nicest path from where and how long is the walk to Peč. Thanks and have a nice daynasmeh

Everything is written above, in Rateče before the pump park, path up to hut ca 45 min slowly, then good hour to top. No avalanche danger. Quite cheerfully.

...Hanč, francimedved has written everything, we usually park in the village before the post office. The walking time depends on the individual, from 1:30 to 2:00 hours from the village to the top. Faster through the forest gets you up a bit earlier, around by road drags on, good lucknasmeh

Yesterday on top of Peč... In Rateče I parked on the larger parking lot where buses are also parked, then continued on the road and behind one of the houses entered the forest and went past the hayfields to the junction, where I continued on the shorter path. After 31 marked switchbacks and the border cut between Slovenia and Italy I reached the top. Views were great, I was alone on top and enjoyed the beautiful views far around.
Crossing the hayfield, view towards Škrlatica and neighbours1

What is nicer than to climb past blooming hayfields to the top, where lovely farm animals-horses await. For us really wonderful experience, which was of course accompanied by diverse flowers too. Peak views were not the clearest,
but Zelenci were all the clearer, which we admired as mirrors on return.nasmehmežikanje
We rode past Martuljek and also looked a little to the left.1
Still a lot of snow under the walls.2
There they have already mowed.3
If anyone is interested in the snow conditions in the Martuljek group.4

Today from Rateče to Tromeja. From halfway sunny and warm, for short sleeves or even topless, especially before the well-heated hut at the top.

Austria practically all above fog, except the cap on Dobrač and fog wisps drifting over Karavanke and Karnics. Julijci didn't want to show. Only in the afternoon in Planica did clouds blow away from immediate area for moments.

Pictures coming. But who knows the highest peak visible left of Dobrač?

Yesterday we climbed to Peč summit, to Tromeja in real winter fairy tale. When starting from Rateče around 10 thermometer showed -12 degrees, but no excessive cold felt. Up shorter path, back longer one, shorter much more trodden, longer mostly for ski tourers and sledders. Weather wonderful, views far around too. More in pics.

Today a short and easy hike from Rateče to Peč Tromeja. The whole path cloudy and foggy, just below the summit beautiful sunny weather.
View towards Dobrač1
And towards Rateški Ponci and Mangart2
One question - view to the west - is that Ojstrnik?3

Tadej, it looks like the rain lingered for a long time in the west. Despite that, you took some nice shots, especially the Zelenci are beautiful. rgdssmile

Dom Tromeja sadly decaying. Door says building illegal, no access path, water, electricity. This way Slovenes destroy ourselves. Inspectorates (state) gotta live off something..
