The successor to the late JLA was SV - MORS. Just like this object is decaying, most border posts are decaying too, which would be more than suitable for mountain huts. When a potential candidate appears who would buy or rent some object, the logistics directorate wakes up a flock of well-paid lawyers, who hire an appraiser to set the rent from afar; purchase is of course not possible and the potential buyer-renter despairs and gives up. Amen! The same is true for the housing fund of the so-called "occupier JLA"; they would rather see empty apartments decaying (always due to some higher - imaginary - interests) than have people rent them, of course at a reasonable rent. The same is true for other objects. I invite you to view part of Marshal Tito's barracks in the center of Ljubljana. You despair! They feed on budgetary teats. But we pay for all this, first the construction of all these objects in the SFRJ, now also the amortization of their decay.

Sad, the object has a nice location and is easily accessible. Obviously, the state, as well as society, is too rich and does not care if property decays.

This way the devil will slowly take all of Slovenia. As far as I know, it has access, water and electricity. During the time of operation, they cooked very well in this hut, so hikers from the Austrian side even came for lunch. There were also nature schools, and for Labor Day they played for Čuku every year. It was fun while it lasted. What a pity.

What whining! What is the state? Is it some omnipotent being that takes care of everything so that you can have a good time? If not, do you whine? Let someone do something, instead of constantly complaining about some imaginary "state"!

I last saw "Dom na Tromeji" a few months ago on a real estate site where it was for sale. The ad is gone now; I don't know if it sold...

I SUGGEST SAMO-K TAKES OVER THE DECAYING OBJECT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. AND I WISH HIM LOTS OF LUCK. LP

Whoever takes it (buys it) will get full logs under feet. That's a fact. As for other objects of former JLA which could be repurposed today for various uses, it's that everyone wants MO or MNZ to transfer ownership to new owners for free, then state provides funds for renovation and activity financing. It doesn't work like that. This time I agree with Samo. Easiest to say let state take care of all, we just criticize. We do nothing ourselves, plus prevent others in every way from doing anything. That's why we are where we are. Also in mountains we know such practices, unfortunately even on this forum more often...

Let's be concrete: it's not about logs under feet, envy or other forms of Slovenian folklore, but the fact that we live in an unregulated state. Judging from Heinz's photo, the object has no access (easement) path at all. In socialism, easement paths were not usually entered in the land registry, since everything was "ours" anyway. Because of that practice, there is complete chaos today in this area, as the owner of the servient land can simply close the easement path to his neighbor. Whoever lives in the countryside probably already knows what I'm talking about. Whoever wants to take over the mentioned object must first obtain the easement right; only then can he start arranging the object and obtaining the necessary documentation. If the neighbors are not in favor, he must enforce the easement in a non-litigious procedure, which means he will spend the next few years in court and pay lawyers. To the one who would tackle this project anyway, I wish lots of luck, patience, a full wallet and, above all, good nerves.

Yes Fulcrum, that's exactly what I had in mind too, just wrote it differently, so maybe expressed awkwardly. Point is the same. I also wish all the luck to the one who tackles this project and others too. Lp

Think a little, who is the state? It's all of us! So don't be too broad-minded. But it is true, the state is led by certain people in certain positions. With them there is often a problem. Because no one has had a problem with me yet, neither in the valley nor in the mountains. I respect all good-hearted and well-raised people and it doesn't occur to me to be jealous if someone has more than me. I just didn't try hard enough myself. But there are too many corrupt ones and they throw bad light on all of us, and there aren't few of us.

Does anyone have info if the hut on the Austrian side is open on weekends?

Could be, because Austrians like hikers coming, even in smaller numbers. I checked online, Dreilander hutte is open on Saturdays and holidays from 8 to 17.
