First time at Tromeja on 15.11. this year. Beautiful peak, wonderful views... but lots of snow, I sank to my knees in places. smile

Today ski touring from Rateče along the road to the top, wonderful, huge snow, back skied straight from the top along the traverse below to the road and along the road to Rateče.
Very nice tour and views.

On Monday first time at Dreilander winking

. From Rateče up and back. Snow for export, near two meters at top. Fog blocked the view. Path is trodden. Even with 15 cm new snow now no problem. On the path lower part quite some fallen trees. Avoid them by taking left path right below then up powerlines to marked path, no issues further. Will return sometime to see the view, now only Dobrac showed for 5 seconds tongue

Direct steep path with almost 30 switchbacks.

From Korensko sedlo along "Path of Books" (as part of European Reformation cultural paths project) - or "at home" - along Austrian marked path no. 603 to Sovska planina, where we climbed to Petelinjek and enjoyed warm afternoon. Autumn slowly coming.. smile

Immediately after entering the pasture the path to Petelinjek leads along the left edge of the clearing, by the fence.

Too steep for us, so we zigzag to the top...

The top of Petelinjek is hidden a few meters ahead.

Today we went from Rateče along switchbacks to Tromeja. Some snow on the part where we leave the road and near the top. Slippery on some turns. Weather clear and quite warm.

16.1.. Snow depth is probably a bit higher today. Ski slope was groomed, views nice. Path soon trodden, as top is easily accessible. smile

12.3...On the road there was mostly snow, frozen in the morning, already softened on the way back. Also on the steep through the forest snow everywhere. But the hairpin turns are numbered, 31 marks. Views weren't the nicest. The ski slope was empty. Nice trip. smile

At hairpin 13 perhaps you observed/saw rolleyes

to the right our footprints on the path (shortcut wink

) because it leads directly to Austrian refreshment hut/home there below on ski slope, unfortunately already closed frown

, nice for you because you can roam the hills, here by us, just across that border towards Tarvisio, they don't let us out of home frown

so we have to secretly eek

roam near home here and there and even for Laško or Union (we don't drink Corona) we don't deserve, total sadness frown

Alessio, I didn't notice, we only at 17th number noticed that turns are counted. Back we didn't pay attention. Next time, snow probably won't be, if I can again...total sadness..

Wonderful day at Tromeja yesterday smile

. If nothing else, you must definitely visit it when covered with snowy blanket.

on the summit there were more and more of us

really wonderful views from the top, Ponce and Jalovec

those were hurrying for views into Austria

almost pristine towards the Austrian hut

over the snow cover with leafy birches alongside

and close-up of its background, Špika and Škrlatice groups

on return more sunny, wonderful setting of this little house with wonderful view

beautiful, but I hurried away from its vicinity

Tromeja from Pod kloštra, the whole path in fog. The larger part we went up the ski slope, descent on the partially marked path. Despite the fog we walked a nice circular path.

This post is a bit late, at Tromeja we were on Saturday, 17.4.2021, but impressions of the walked path still very fresh and nice. Parked in Kranjska Siberia (read Rateče), under the church. Soon after the start of the walk observed a lively squirrel. On the path very few people. Snow on the path quite some, but path safe. Views very nice - to us, to neighbors and into the distance. nasmeh

From the upper side too, Visoka Ponca stands out among the mountains

To the right along the clearing a path leads

On the bends very nice views open to the Tamar valley and surrounding mountains

A little wind, otherwise warm and scenic

Up first on road, then on steep serpentine path (31 hairpins), back down on road. The heat at least a bit cooled by wind nasmeh

visitors quite a few, also view nice all around. Regards

On Sunday it was drizzling in Ljubljana, but as we were driving to Kranjska Gora, a triangle of blue appeared. Our mountain flowers are good weathermen too. Nice goal Peč - tromeja. Path from Rateče, first on the road, then into the little forest, nicely traced, soft path sprinkled with larch needles. Blue sky, no cloud, views to the valley under Poncami. Our Julijci beautiful, from Škratica, Razor, Prisank, Mojstrovke, Jalovec, Mangart... and on the Italian and Austrian side, Dobrač, Beljak, Baško lake. Peeked also Maloško and Trupejevo poldne. Nice to sit in the sun, but say goodbye to the peak. First part back on the same path, then left to the abandoned hut, pity it's decaying. Mushrooms this time none. Somewhat steeper descent on the "tourist path", then paths join again. Final thought at "Aljaž", all good, coffee cakelet, kremšnita and gibanica. Easy nice tour, soon again.

Last time this year, some snapshots from the nice circular path to Peč (Tromeja), in wonderful sunny weather. The path itself, currently without special features.
Happy and healthy in 2023.
