Congratulations on the successfully completed 'unplanned' adventure, Ivo. Really a shame you didn't opt for traversing the double Zadnji Pelc instead, which is guaranteed easier (whether direct over the notch or below it) than descent from PNK. Descent to Zapotok pasture you know anyway.

Eleven years have passed since the first traverse of this ridge, then my companion was Irena, yesterday Matjaž. With Irena rain soaked us in the last quarter of the tour, this time fog bothered us in the last third. I hope it happens sooner than in 11 years more to my taste. In Zadnja Trenta we started just at dawn and after two solid hours surprised we find ourselves in front of the shelter below Špička. The 'hut' was still open (surely at least tomorrow) and we happily enjoyed tea with honey. Sun warmed nicely, but high cumulus hinted weather forecasters screwed me again.... Continued to Škrbina za Gradom and enjoyed short climb (170m) to Pelc nad Klonicami. Matjaž first time here, so all the happier for the ascent. To the next ridge summit, Veliki Pelc drags on, luckily fog spared us somewhat. Let me mention that I found a red first aid pouch here somewhere, only scissors, clips and tweezers usable. If owner reads this, can get it. Also ask Boštjan (@bos) if possible to correct June text under pic No.45 and two more. Mentioned 'Vršac' is peak named Skutniki, real Vršac much lower neighbor. Rest of tour went smoothly, some fixed anchors but think for winter traverses. Rope (planned) used only once, descent to notch between Zadnji Pelc summits. 16m sufficient (checked) from existing anchor. Short ascent to south summit totally easy, same descent to saddle with Nizki vrh which we of course visited. Getting darker, summits done, only long descent to car left. So whole tour not too smooth, my bad memory 'provided' again, after six previous descents slightly missed direction from Velika planina and hit impassable terrain. Correction cost us at least 100m (which I'm used to) and good half hour to path to Zapotoška planina. Waterfalls active, marked path nice, from parking to his cabin we give ride to former politician Jožef who was at Jalovec. On return over Vršič stop at Tonka's, later at Dani's to arrange next tour. Thanks for company Matjaž, it was great.

Bravo, guys. Too bad you didn't invite me along. I'd have a hard time passing up this ridge.

Drago, that would be a piece of cake for you and you could also visit Skutnike, Špičica, Skutnik,...

Why not Jelenk, Zagorelec,... too? You're joking a bit. Your ridge is a solid tour for one day with approach and descent. Especially for us young ones.

I'm joking, Drago, although I know that with your knowledge and fitness, you'd walk over the Pelci like over Pohorje or Velika Planina. But it's interesting that almost every tour inspires me for some new (to me) peak, in this case Skutnike

Judging by your participations in Tone's mountain runs, you're not short on fitness.

It does show a bit, Dejan, but with a backpack I become just an ordinary, slow scree-walker. And an interesting fact: Today I flip to the October page in the PZS mountaineering calendar and the Friday picture immediately comes to mind. Bavški Grintavec, Zagorelec, Griva, Zadnji Pelc, Vršac, Skutniki, Veliki Pelc and Pelc nad Klonicami. In front - Jožef's weekend

Beautiful tour. Regarding the last sentence, on the 11th picture another one of the nicest in this area is offered.

Thanks. It tempts me, the concern is the difficulty. It looks quite narrow. Regards

It is really narrow, with good rock and steep grasses. From top to bottom the difficulty is less, in between there's one very exposed descent on rope and the descent from Obljak, which is a special chapter.

Even Obljak alone is a great tour , let alone the traverse of the Pihavci from Vrh Osojnika down. Jelko, once TNP supervisor in Bavšica, asked me almost meter-accurately about the path details before congratulating me on the ascent

Bojan, interesting chronicle. We’ve somewhat strayed from the topic about Pelci, Tadej should move it to the Bavški Pihavec Ridge topic. In this Bojan’s post, at the description of access to Obljak "The last strenuous point just below the summit is the breakthrough through a still reasonably wide belt of scrub that guards the access" I’d add that this scrub can be bypassed to the left on steep grass, where at the end there’s a passage through the scrub to the top.
