19.10.2025 Pihavec 2417m (Tineta Miheliča path)
At parking lot morning +6C and such fog it was dripping. Path to Luknja and junction without any view. When turning right hit icy rock. All covered with thin ice layer and had to watch steps carefully. To Tinet M. memorial plaque without special orientation issues. Gully entrance visible from afar. Smooth rock crossing with auxiliary rope. Just grab rope and over in moment, first two struggled a bit without rope. Steep grass, some rock to marked path from Kriški podi (path officially closed!!!).
At summit nice views await. Short rest, eat, some photos and hurry down. Descent to Kriški podi snowy, snow frozen full of scree. At Stenar junction part of team to summit, part to valley to Aljaž. This descent needs caution on abundant scree. In fog rock wet and slippery.

) and via Sovatno to Vrat valley.
Quite a few cairns along Tinet's path, which makes orientation easier.
Nice, not even a hot day. When everyone rushes to Triglav, you turn in the opposite direction…priceless. nasmeh

Is there a nicer view of Stena anywhere…

…and along the ridge into easier terrain.

A long-held wish came true for me yesterday: the ascent of Pihavec via the Mihelič route nasmeh

.
This mountain is beautiful, like a heart in the massif of the Julian Alps, and offers wonderful views in all directions.
It also does not let you approach it without effort. Smooth rock at the exit from the gully, steep and precipitous grassy slopes, scree-covered summit, and an even more scree-laden descent on the other side...
It was a wonderful, memorable day.

Some technical data:
In Mihelič's couloir there is one traverse, where it helps a lot if you have one carabiner and a good meter of rope, which can be clipped into the already hammered piton. I descended, via an otherwise closed path, to Kriške pode, where the pitons and cables are in solid condition. I continued via Sovatna to Vrata.

The logbook, already almost 20 years old, would need a new polyvinyl bag, which I didn't have with me.
