Does anyone have any info on possible snow on the path Luknja - Pihavec - Kriški podi?

Yesterday 20.9.2013 I went from home in Krnica over the still dark Kriška stena to Pogačnikov dom on Pihavec and descended via Sovatna to Vrata. The path over Kriška stena is dry and passable. Towards Pihavec there was still some snow, which wasn't more annoying than the scree you have to climb over. On the passage along the pegs (there are enough, just one is a bit hidden), caution is needed. Due to the possibility of rocks dislodging I recommend ascent and descent on this part with sufficient safety distance. On Pihavec I hoped for nice views until the end. I was rewarded with blue sky, otherwise it was foggy on this part of the path. There were quite a few nicely plump marmots, chamois kids cuddling to their moms, beautiful colors of lakes and silver ribbon of Soča, on the path towards Vrata the northern wall illuminated from the west.

On Sunday to Pihavec from Pogačnikov dom, descent via Miheličev kamin to Luknja (thanks again Dr. Ejči for the tour). Conditions for ascent good, snow nicely frozen, except big crack at chain nothing special, from saddle to summit all dry. In descent all chimneys dry, rest mix, snow patches a bit on grass. In the end made a nice day, and finish at Aljaž with beer. Pictures follow ....

A trifle, and again sometime.
We nicely spiced the (ad)venture. mežikanje
The decision has been made... off to Pihavec.1
The intermediate section requires quite some gymnastics on the pegs...2
The scree after the Čez Kamen saddle is still completely covered...3
Some dry tooling was there...4

I think the assessment of snow conditions on paths to Kriške pode is too generalized. How about access via Sovatna, and via Ruševje past Križ, and via Luknja via Bovški Gamsovec, if I mention just these three?

It's no longer news, but the path to Pihavec is officially closed due to a very significant landslide. For those who "would go anyway" (I can't believe that apparently a couple of them really went) one more thing: it also crosses a still very steep snowfield.

HOW IS THE ACCESS TO PIHAVEC? Because there's just been good news that KoPiščarjeva pot is open again thanks to markacists and mountain rescuers, I'm interested in how it is with Pihavec and access from Pogačnikov dom? A landslide was reported a while ago, is it different now and have perhaps some deserving people from GRS and markacists managed to check the safety of this terrain too? zmeden

Yes, Sandra, thanks, but that one doesn't appeal to me much. Anyway, I plan to overnight at Pogačnikov dom and go there from Zadnjica, so Pihavec would come into question from that side. Just this year I had it planned to visit after 20 years since I was last up there. There will be other surrounding peaks this time.

On Saturday, 11.7., there was still a sign for the closed path at Kriških podih.
