Again the same tour as last October. Velebit doesn't disappoint. There are stoves in the shelters, and enough suitable wood in the surroundings too. Meetings with people who permanently live on Velebit (Ante at Zavižan, Tihomir-Mršavi at Skorpovac) and other visitors always bring something new and special. Premužić trail was still partially snowy, winter gear was in the backpack. During the day the snow was soft, in the morning quite hard. I'll come back to Velebit.

Me too, I wandered there for a few days in the summer, but at Rossijevem I didn't sleep, because fleas had infested the shelter. So it said at the entrance then and I hope the frost.....

No flowers yet to see, which means spring hasn't arrived in true sense ?!

True. There's still plenty of snow and obviously this winter wasn't so stingy with it.

Very nice. How did you organize the tour logistically?

Logistics are as follows: By car to Zavižan (parking at about 1500m). Carry your own food, no shops on the way. If lucky, you can eat at Alanu and drink beer at Tihomir on Skorpovcu. You can also eat at Baških Oštarijah. Water is mostly spring water at bivouacs, so I boiled it mostly. From Mali Alan I walked 8km along the road, then a local stopped and took me to the bus stop. Then bus to Starigrad Paklenica for ćevapi and beer, then bus to Gornja Klada and hike back (with overnight at about 900m) to Zavižan and car. Orientation no problem, paths excellently marked, some well-trodden, others less (on some probably more bears than people). Maps on phone (Orux Maps app and Balkan map - openandromaps). Only for section from Jelova Ruje - (from Šugarska) to Visočica and on to Struge I downloaded GPS tracks from http://info.hps.hr/putovi/putovi .

Thanks. I've done some of it already, just not in one go. On N. Velebit I even had a close encounter with a she-bear with cubs.

Four more days on Velebit. Start in Kladi. Then Zavižan, sleep at Rossiju and next day at Ogradjenici. Plan was next day to Ždrilo. En route learned there were already 14 there (in 4x3m bivouac) so extended to Šugarska Duliba. Night wandering in foggy Velebit has its special charm. At Šugarska we were three. Hats off again to those who renovated the bivouac. Today just descent to the highway. Weather from clear to fog and rain.

Premužićka is still under snow. If temperatures high no problem, otherwise winter gear mandatory. At Alanu in the hut there's a warden, can get something to eat and of course beer. How it is at Zavižanu (is Ante still there) I don't know yet, probably go there on return. Best regards from Baških Oštarij (radler and čevapčiči). Then on to Ždrilo.

From Thursday to Sunday on Premužićka. Start afternoon from Zavižan. Sleep at Rossiju, then Ograđenica and back to Rossiju and to car at Zavižan. Water at Ograđenica OK. At Rossiju as usual dead snails floating in it. Live ones make sure nights aren't boring.
