Preval Pasture

One more: in the Luknja section, where there is a passage by cable and pegs in the gully, stones and rocks are crumbling from the right wall, so special care and the fastest passage of the mentioned area are needed.

Cloudiness and fog on Saturday didn't deter me from the recommended path to Preval pasture from Draga (through Luknja); really exceptionally nice, varied path, but recent heavy rain affected this part too; path fully passable and excellently marked; close encounter with pegs and wire successfulnasmeh; from Preval shepherd hut along road to hut on Polish pasture, but road in one section very bad (read: muddy), barely passable due to logging; currently not recommended;

Pohodnica53, but no bear encounter? According to reports on our local radio, the Karawanks bear is supposed to be wandering in the Preval area these days (Prevale, as the locals call it).

Maybe it has moved to the Austrian side of Olševa, yesterday morning almost 100% that we heard bear roaring.
It did shake me a bit really.

ojejeek, good I didn't know about that, otherwise I don't know who would have scared whom more, me him or he meeek;
now it's clearer to me why we didn't meet any hikers from that direction and why one Austrian hunter was "bragging" with a hunting knife at the Preval shepherd hut;

From Ljubelj to Prevala pasture, through the Born tunnels, there is a very interesting path that is entirely dry and nicely maintained. The start is somewhat exposed. It attracts many families with children. In the window in the middle of the tunnel, I noticed climbing protections. Crazy.

On Friday we went on a hike with school hikers to Prevala Pasture from Ljubelj. It was an afternoon trip. We had plenty of time, left school at 13:30. The weather served us well, although dark clouds occasionally passed over us. We ended the day beautifully and I hope everyone slept very well, including the youngest, five-year-old hiker who complained that her tummy hurt...

Born path is super, especially the first half. In the morning on the pasture it was still quiet, only cowbells could be heard from afar. The path is suitable also for children, those afraid of heights and dogs nasmeh.
The path is exposed, but wide enough1
There is plenty of shade everywhere too2

Today, due to high temperatures, just a morning walk to Prevala pasture. Despite fairly pleasant early temperatures, the path through the Born tunnels was very refreshing, especially on the way back. Too bad they're not longernasmeh On the pasture first no one, then more and more hikers heading mostly to Roblek's hut, probably also to the summit. The Julians were poorly visible, as was the rest of the mountains. After 2 hours enjoying the alpine beauties, we returned to Ljubelj.

Gloomy morning.. well, gotta go somewhere.
We drive to the hut in Draga, leave the car there and hurry towards Planinca.
There we turn right onto a steep forest roadeek, which leads us through the gully of the southern slopes of Begunjščica to Prevala, which is shrouded in fog.
Back to the valley via the path Through the Hole but only to the junction with the forest road, then continue along it past the feeder to the junction with the Draga-Planinca road, by which we return to the hut in Draga. One hour and three quartersvelik nasmeh

On Sunday from Draga via Luknja to Prevalo pasture.
Then across Roža to Roblek, down a rather steep slope and gully to Tinčkova hut, crossing the slope on a narrow leafy path towards Poljska pasture and via Planinca pasture down to Draga.

....Through "Ukna" to Prevalo, then across Roža to Roblek... Interesting path, it has tempted me for some time. Like walking in the wilderness. And the "Počivavi" are nicely arranged, with vases from roots and coat hangers. It makes you laugh a bit. Prevala was deserted, as fog dragged from all sides. But they forecasted nice weather. It happens. Anyway, back across Roža. The path was muddy, grassy slopes very steep. Too bad nothing was visible. Even the hut at Roblek was shrouded in fog. Livestock already grazing at Planinca. It was nice, interesting and I will surely repeat this tour soonnasmehvelik nasmeh

....How everything looks different with gorgeous weather. The path is the same, quiet and solitary, but feelings are different. I'd almost shout for joy, it's so beautiful. But you quietly hum a song and enjoy. The caretaker at Prevali will keep it open as long as the weather is nice. Then on weekends, he said.nasmehnasmehnasmeh
