Yesterday's glimpses from the nice circular path past the hut on Planina Loka, to Lanež and on to Velika Raduha. Descent over Planina Arta and hut on Planina Loka to the starting point.

Today in light snowfall at -11 degrees to the top. Snow starts from Radušnik and is powdery, unconsolidated. To hut 10-20cm, above hut 30-40cm, in drifts half meter. Trodden path guaranteed.velik nasmeh

We had last weekend traditional gathering in hut on Loki below Raduha and Sunday also ascent to 2062m. With good winter tires can drive to junction 15 min walk below hut on Loki. Above hut on Loki real winter idyll, path well trodden, recommend nasmeh

Parked a bit below Radušnik. Road for this season quite drivable (very sprinkled with sand). To the hut without gaiters, further drifts. First up to Lanež. When we reached the ridge, a hurricane-force northerly cooled us. At times we staggered in gusts and crawled to the Lanež plateau. Last rocky part quite demanding in the wind. On the plateau not so bad. When we got into the lee of Mala Raduha, it got hot. Northerly still along the ridge to Raduha summit, but not as bad as before Lanež. At the top, group photo, feed the ravens and descend to the lee. Plan to find direct route to Planina Arte. Take Maja along, her first descent on this pathless terrain. Search for the start (PVC bag marker) as usual.
Found it, descent follows. Sometimes quite tough, snow in drifts over knees or more. Newbie Maja holds up well and follows without whining.cool
Down to forest edge much better and quickly to the sun on Planina Arte. On dry benches snack and short rest. Then descent into fog. After a bit over six hours back at the start. Last part of descent muddy.

Today up in a winter fairytale.nasmeh
Lots of snow above the hut, towards the top new ca. 50 cm. We broke the trail, but tomorrow the track will be drifted over.mrk pogled

From Grohat it goes great on skis. Otherwise, one track is a bit strangely routed and potholed.
Above Durce, where the path from Loka joins, it's more churned up than by potholes.

Traditional winter hikes, whose peak was in the eighties and nineties of the previous century, are, as 'pjotr' also notes, definitely in decline. One of the few that has held on until today is the one to the mentioned mountain. If there wasn't a parallel ski competition with it, there would be guests in the hut at Loki (which is the main starting point for summiting the peak) only for one room despite fairly favorable weather conditions.
As almost always, I also started from Luč this time, on the road section of the path only a few cars overtook me, for a change from last year, in the last snowy section only one person's footprints are visible.
But I noticed that quite a few people approached the summit via the Arto pasture, and descended towards the hut, which I must try next time too. Conditions were quite good yesterday, minimal fog, sun and wind, light snowfall a pleasant addition. Excellent bean stew for ten euros, radiators in the rooms, which is a pleasant novelty in the hut.
On the return via Kranjski Rak I drive in a few-minute heavy snowfall, such as I have experienced only a few times this winter.

Hello,
I've been more than 20 times on this hike, it was first organized on 16.3.1991, definitely the approach to the summit via Planina Arta is dearer to me.
In recent years health has been troublesome, so I need to recover from various operations, but hope dies last.
Safe and steady step.

I missed some of the first ones, and even later I wasn't exactly a regular participant, so yesterday I was up there already for the 24th time for this purpose.
