Rašica 641m - vrh Staneta Kosca

Print
viharnik26. 10. 2009 13:39:11
Today I decide with MTB a bit differently and go check what kind of autumn is on Rašica. Start from Pržanja, past Tacen and Gameljn and on asphalt path to before the first burned village Rašica in 1941 in Slovenia. Here I turn left on gravel path, which gently climbs and makes quite a 4km loop around the hill to upper junction of footpath. Follow slightly muddy paths here and there, without walking the bike to the top. Hut is closed on Mondays, atmosphere natural and quiet, different from nearby Šmarna gora, so really can immerse in beautiful autumn colors in peace. I warmly recommend the tour to Ljubljana folks. For Rašica itself, despite lying on the edge of Ljubljana, I counted 28km both ways and spent 1:37 h. Lp-Roknasmeh

Today after a long time back in the mountains, this time to Rašica. For starting point we chose Jablje castle. Despite not too nice weather the trip was nice, the path was dry with nice views and quite well marked.

About conditions: Gobavica path (Mengeška hut), Debeli vrh (above Dobeno), Rašica is muddy only on a few sections, more due to mountain bikers enjoying, nothing serious.

Impressions not about conditions: Lower hills are unfortunately already bare, but in spring their beauties are different. So on Saturday (a bit late) afternoon we went a bit among the snowdrops on local hills to change the daily direction a little. On Gobavica (Mengeška hut) we used to pick them around March 8th and this year too they are on time. A real feast for the eyes. Interestingly, they are full on Gobavica, on the way further to Rašica nothing.

Since we didn't just look at snowdrops but also chatted long with two (of four we met) acquaintances, at the start of the ridge path we doubted we'd reach the top before night. But since the day before we had to turn back because of night, this time we didn't want to give up. Flashlight was in gear too. Small consolation for me, as I'm not a big fan of night in the forest. If no other way, I survive that too. About having the most disoriented person in the world with me, I almost didn't think. True, we're not exactly newbies on this path. But night…

The ridge path just wouldn't end, really routed over all possible ridges. Of course it was proper dark when we reached the tower and instead of enjoying stars and moonlight from the bench as reward, wind chased us home to Rašica. For preventive reasons we treated ourselves to »smrekce« and the question: »Where did you two come from?«, still brings a smile today. We didn't return there so something wouldn't take us, but walked to Rašica village and on to Gameljn. From there urban already works… and to »Šmarnogorica« coffee and her ride to start wasn't far. mežikanje

We like snow
even more blooming slope.
So we wait for spring,
when birds love each other,
slopes become leafy
and paths dry out.

Snowmen already shed tears
as their arms shorten.
Warm sun takes care,
nature awakens,
brings us joyful hill days.

otiv @ I'm in quite a dilemma who these four published photos belong to. Potepinka from 5.3.2012-probably hers, as she was on Rašica daytime and nighttime. But it's very strange that from Potepinka's post-5.3.2012 to yours 30.1.2013 almost a year passes! Did no one visit Rašica in between. You "send us off" with some verses, we don't know if they are originally yours or not? That you and your better half didn't conquer those "snowy, muddy paths" at all! You always take photos, but not one pic from you this time. As I said, you were on 30.1.2013 nicely by the warm stove, copying verses from someone third! Rašica, even though almost at Ljubljana's doorstep, will have to wait a bit more. No real interest for it, maybe better in future! LP

Stane Kosec Peak-Rašica is very popular especially on weekends when the weather is nice, both hikers and cyclists. There is just a few posts on this forum.

I, me2 or we visit this peak quite often.. it's a nice tour from Trzin or Jable castle for morning, afternoon or when you take 2 hours for a walk with slightly faster pace to maintain fitness, especially if you know rainy weekend awaits.. pics from Thursday...

Amarilis, think a bit before writing anything about someone you don't know. If you like to sit by the stove....and if you have no sense for poetry.....
Of course all verses I post on the portal are original, because I enjoy creating them, often during the tour itself. We were on Rašica, just didn't have camera, pity, as we could photograph some snowdrops peeking through snow and basking in the sun. Path was muddy, especially in forest, so we walked mostly on snow. If you decide where to climb, it really doesn't matter if there's general interest or not.
But I don't understand why you ask about four photos, which are of course potepinka's and have no connection to me.zavijanje z očmi

Amarilis, Amarilis that's how it is with this thing,
I don't charge my batteries by the stove,
but on hill paths and with people,
whose honesty shows in their eyes.

Otiv, I know you know,
how nice it is for us,
when going to hills on a tour.

And after the tour,
when you give us the experience in rhymes,
your memories read so much nicer.

Some are bored at home by the stove,
where to go alone, they just don't know.

Easier for them,
than hiking in mountains,
at home by the stove,
to criticize others.

Otiv waits for blooming slope,
but those up there piled snow on him again.
I can't versify like Otiv and Turbo,
so rather just a short comment.

From Mengeška hut to Rašica along the ridge path it's trodden, snow covers the mud, winter idyll all around, so walking this path is pure pleasure (if you're not among those who get angry when snow from trees showers them a few times). nasmeh

@turbo with a little delay my thanks for your poetry. You are a real poet who could probably teach me something too.
@potepinka praise to you too. Occasionally I like to write something in rhyme to make our pages a bit more colorful and hope for some good mood among people.nasmeh

@otiv ;

Even before the end of winter,
the end of my rhyme!

With joy I shared beauties of wanderings,
gave some opinion
and also rejoiced in others' experiences.

But sadly it's so,
more and more malice.
Easily I say even wickedness.

That's why from these hills here I have gone forever,
but the real ones, no one will take from me.

To such as you and to you personally
best, most beautiful I wish especially.

Good luck!

Turbo, don't know what hurt you so,
what writing gripped you so.

To me too many things written,
not in jest or small joke.

Didn't pay attention, didn't get mad,
just laughed when author boasted ugly writing.

Life is one only,
so don't toss it over shoulder.

Turbo, you were our pillar of goodness,
heart of mighty mountains and mountain guide for us.

Only to a couple of tavern-dwellers full of errors,
who don't know with themselves neither where nor how,
you cleared their sinful plots.

Mountain to wind dictates gentle whisper,
heard only by polished mountaineer head to toe.

Along the whole without crampons it'll be tough, time consumption doubles and it'll be quite strenuous during the day in softened snow.
