Repov Cirque-Silver Saddle-Planjava-Kamnik Saddle-K. Bistrica

Lijaneja, I expressed myself a bit wrongly. It was, I think Thursday and hut still closed, when I overtook at least 20 hikers in Repov kot, two also missed the path, on KS I was alone when descending from Planjava. Fact is, the mentioned path has become very popular and many a girl says to her guy 'let's rather go to the pools, no mood for the highway to KS'...

Even if it's a hunting path or pathless terrain, protections should be installed over the rock jump and smooth slabs. Moralizing after the first fatality, saying it's unmarked path, won't help. Fact is more and more people push through Repov kot, willingly or unwillingly, and it's just a matter of time when the next fatality happens. And then wise talk again that it's pathless etc. Same for path over Žmavčarje - there too protections needed.

Against! There are quite a few pathless areas here that I haven't tackled due to a few meters that seem too hard for me. Even if I know return wouldn't be issue, as I'd rappel on rope, since anchors everywhere at top of jump or hard spot for belay/abseil. Similar paths like e.g. Žmavčarji and Repov kot there are plenty in KSA, Julian Alps and Karavanke too. Secure Zajčja polica on Pelc? Supported gully under Goličica? Entry jump under Lopo? Ridge between Tolsta Košuta and Košutnikov Turn? Kaptanski Greben or path to it? To Staničev vrh? Pathless is pathless let it stay so. Occasional cairn enough, on PP even some red dot.

Twice against. As @turbo described and listed examples, I fully agree with him. But I don't see where the difficulty over Žmavčarje and Repov kot stands out so much that with a bit of care it can't be overcome. Every hiker tempers himself and learns the ABC of movement in nature with kilometers. I didn't start with Ponci, Oltarji and Rokavi either, but with Blegoš, Ratitovec, Črna prst... Sure, now it's selfie era, ego pumping and it's all far from mountaineering as it was a generation ago. Pathless should remain pathless.

I think the same. I don't deny anyone the "right" to visit mountains, but unfortunately now only on such paths can one find some solitude and peace from bustle, for which reason (at least I) go to the mountains at all. Of course for such paths, as @lijaneja said, one needs to mature too.

On the contrary, some aids need to be removed on marked paths, not new ones installed on pathless terrain. Marked and groomed paths that are heavily visited should be well secured too. Others best with minimal protections and marks, like in some foreign mountains. Pathless are pathless and let them stay so. And mark them as little as possible with various signs, cairns etc. Leave some exploration pleasure for those after us. Guidebooks and web descriptions are enough.

Five times against. A marked path is just a marked path, off-trail is a nice Slovenian word and means exactly what it means. Boosting ego and "selfieing" everyone has to sort out with themselves and bear the consequences. Nicely democratic, right?

Somewhere I saw a quote from one of our great men: Don't smash and splash too much in these our mountains. I don't know if I wrote exactly what he said but the thought was "the right one" and it's still very much in place.

Drago 5+ The little problem around this junction has really been dragging on for decades. For a solution, you need to look through the eyes of those going there for the first time. The fact is, at the junction the path to the right towards Repov kot is more visible than the marked one to the left. The distant sign on the left, pointing sharply to the right, can easily be overlooked from the junction. The solution is simple. Place an arrow to the left at the junction (right on the bank).

Let's not be so narrow-minded and selfish. Let's allow the less experienced to also see the beauties of our mountains and admire the hidden corners. The mountains aren't privatized yet (I hope) - but trends are appearing in that direction. I wish lots of enjoyment in the mountains to everyone, not just the chosen and initiated.

Ouch, some have ideas... Will we also limit speed to 50 on highways because the fact is more and more people drive the wrong way. And after the first fatality moralizing that rules are clear won't help... If a path is unmarked it's unmarked. Let those walk it who know where it leads and what the difficulty is. If someone ends up there by mistake and finds it too hard for them... Well man, turn back if you like yourself even a little!

From the viewpoint of mass visits, only Repov kot and Žmavcarji are problematic, the other off-trails should stay as they are. Over Žmavcarji we could just fix the protections that are already there anyway, over Repov kot those two meters. From a safety perspective. Fact is, there are more and more inexperienced and reckless hikers in the mountains, especially this year when mountain visits are really massive due to corona.

Today at the start of one of the more visited unmarked paths, where GRS interventions are frequent. Sadly the sign at the other end is already destroyed.

Are those pictures for the path over Rigelj? There it doesn't seem dangerous to me under proper conditions. But true, in rain or right after rain, I really wouldn't go there. Once I went about an hour after rain and slipped quite a bit on mud in a few places. Now for that path in bad conditions I have special mud boots with spikes on the soles.

Rigelj it is, yeah. Technically nothing special, the problem can be orientation in the upper part, especially on descent. The lower sign actually warns about all other paths on southern slopes of Velika Planina, which by the way are marked on other maps too, not just Google's. Only the cross connection past Sivnik to Kisovec still deserves the name path, everything else is very neglected.

Yeah that one to Kisovec can be a bit problematic, because at the start full of fallen trees. Otherwise seemed okay to me.
