Ridge traverse Kranjska Rinka - Skuta

So, I prepared another video, this time across the entire ridge (30.8.2014)...link:

10.9.2018:
We started the tour Veliki greben, Kranjska Rinka-Skuta ridge, Dolgi hrbet, Grintovec from V Koncu. The road up there is so bad in some places that on the return we almost couldn't believe we had driven it.
Heavy dew made the path to Trat pod Koglom a bit difficult for us, where we turned right onto Veliki greben. There we found a chamois horn in the gully, but it stank so much that we left it somewhere on Veliki greben. During the traverse to Veliki greben, some chamois below us kept us company. We managed Veliki greben without issues. The sweetest part was of course up top, where you have to stay well focused while walking it so the exposure on both sides doesn't put you on all fours. On the ascent to Kranjska Rinka we looked back many times, as you only see from afar how beautiful this ridge is. On the grass below Kranjska Rinka we sat a bit. There Blaž decides to go to Skuta via the marked path and wait for me there. I climbed Kranjska Rinka via its eastern ridge, which gave me nice climbing. At the top of Kranjska Rinka I let out a joyful shout and immediately got Blaž's shout back, who was just on the little ridge above the ramp below Skuta. Followed the most demanding part of the tour, the ridge to Skuta. It went well for me. Also over Konj without problems and upright. Climbing the traverse and then continuing through the window was pure enjoyment with constant views of what was conquered behind. The joy shout expressed all my enthusiasm at the last steps to Skuta summit. Blaž dozed off a verse or two while waiting for me. He waited about half an hour. On Skuta we met friendly interlocutor Stane. Then we continued via Dolgi hrbet to Grintovec. Below Mlinarsko sedlo we admired three chamois leisurely basking in the sun rays. On Grintovec we enjoyed playful company of ptarmigans. Descent via Dolge stene was spiced by sheep on its meadows. In the hut at Kokrsko sedlo the beer fizzed down the throat, it hit the spot so well. But each only half, so legs still obeyed on descent. And they did, as we were at the car in one hour.
While packing we kept looking up and contentedly discussed the fantastic tour that succeeded so nicely for us.
Protections on mentioned paths all ok, except that delicate rock below Skuta.

On Saturday (17.08.2019.) my friend and I set off to traverse this ridge. We came from Ravenske Kočne and via Slovenska pot over Kranjska koča to Koroška Rinka and quickly to Kranjska Rinka. We started at 9:30 and it took exactly 4 hours to Kranjska Rinka. It was mighty hot! velik nasmeh

On Kranjska Rinka we roped up right away because we didn't know what awaited us and started descending the ridge quickly...but at one point we strayed too much to the north side of the ridge and moved on crumbly exposed ledges all the way to Konj (II-III) :/ From that notch where climbing over Konj and the traverse to Skuta summit starts, pure poetry nasmeh

The ridge claimed a victim on those north slopes though, a blue sling and almost took the belay gear but we saved the gear, the sling stayed nasmeh

On Skuta summit we experienced a magnificent sunset best seen towards the Julian Alps. Then Tina (very pleasant Slovenian girl we greet if she reads this nasmeh

) was arriving at the top, with whom we descended in the end to Cojzova koča past the bivouac under Grintovec...we overnighted, she went to Konca. From Skuta top to Cojzova 1:40 h and next day we visited Kočne. Beautiful ridge for climbing, but we went a bit our own way - now we know for next time mežikanje
