Path through Grlo snow-free. In lower part huge amount of scree and larger rocks. Some fresh rockfall, some probably last thunderstorm.
Under S wall of Ojstrica (usual spot) wide snowfield. Steps can be nicely made and no problem. A bit surprised that at Klemenčeva Cave water is not flowing into trough? Descent to Logar Valley via abandoned marked path. Mate surprised by difficulty of this path section.
cheers

Afternoon on Rjavca. Waited till 13h but still rotten in shady steep of Grlo. The jump loaded with scree, someone strung prusik between two pegs for help. Higher burning sun surprised me, draining strength from left traverse on. Best part of path therefore shade under huge rock at saddle. At Klemenčeva added fifth liter of fluid in 4.5h walk. Due to tough weather mixed feelings after tripnasmeh Still interesting old passage under Planjava.

Today I wanted to check the snow higher up on the northern side of the svinjski part of KSA and was surprised. It started around 1400m and up to 1500m there was hardly any, but the blanket rose with altitude. At 1700m below the saddle there was a good meter and almost impassable. Snow was wet and heavy. Every time I sank to my waist I stood like concreted. I plowed to the saddle and turned back, didn't seem sensible to continue. Weather was, ignoring wetness and snow piles, excellent for hike. Not too cold and not too windy, no rain. Nice views and killing solitude. Descent tired me well, so I was glad to see the car.

Grlo-Rjavčki vrh-Škarje-Ojstrica-Škrbina-Logarski kot
On Sunday from Logarski kot through Grlo. Grasses wet, so feet didn't stay dry. From scree we head straight to ridge and soon I'm on boulder stretching over walls below it. One day it will happen... and nothing will hold it then. We continue to highest point of Rjavčki vrh, from where we descend to saddle shared with Škarje. Since I wanted Ojstrica too, we included it and descended Kopinškova to Klemenčeva cave, under which 'fellow sufferer' turned left and again we searched best passages and through some annoying traverses (earth gullies) sneaked to scree and a bit left, bit right searching very faded markers and path long taken by time, appeared in Logarski kot just in time for coffee. nasmeh

Nice... this path from Klemenče Cave to Logarski kot - can you tell a bit more, please? Where under Klemenče Cave is the branch? Can faded markers be found along the whole path? Is it pure pathless or disappearing trail? Thanks nasmeh

Turn left right under the Cave when you enter the forest. No path at start, further on you spot it sometimes, but soon it disappears again. If you have eyes on stalks, maybe you can follow markers, but it's quite possible you'll have to go more by feel. More about the path here: http://www.hribi.net/trenutnerazmere.asp?slo=1&gorovjeid=3&id=6644

Already midweek the desire crept up on me to head toward Rjavčki vrh on Sunday if the weather holds. It itched me, the pathless terrain from Logarski kot along the slide falling between the Cave and Rjavčki vrh. I called Sraki and he was up for some exploring in the Savinja Alps. nasmeh
We climbed to the gully partly our own way and partly along the faded markers of the abandoned path. Moisture immediately did its thing and soon we were soaked. We climbed up the left side of the gully over easy jumps, which took us past a small waterfall to the left to the saddle under the rockfall in Rjavci from 1877. Lots of water everywhere. First we wanted to find a passage on the left side of the break to the dwarf pines above us, but falling stones from the upper edge of the break soon let us know that we couldn't go through here. Above the break it's full of sand and stones that eagerly roll over the edge. Better to retreat and descend left of the break down the slide to the forest. We continue across the wooded terrain right upward to the next gully, which also rejects us. The narrow gully with poor footholds was soaked and since we didn't know exactly what awaited us at the top, we turned back instead, as we didn't want to descend that toboggan, water was flowing. Well nothing, third time lucky. Again we descend a bit and ascend right into the cirque under Rjavčki vrh. We stick to the right side of the steep ascent hoping the terrain above lets us through. We reached a wide rocky gully that by eye would lead us right under the Planinšca summit. We climbed slowly and carefully. The last section was about 50m long, very demanding and crumbly climbing grade I to II. When we climbed out onto the grass, I knew we had made it. We look for the trail and soon we are on the summit. Yay! On the summit we sit, enjoy and laugh. After a longer break we descend toward Klemenče Cave and midway we also drop by the site of the old/future bivouac under Ojstrica. Nice spot. At Klemenče quite a lot of visitors. We drink beer and straight to the huge, almost house-sized rock at the Cave. From there we descend to the abandoned path leading to Logarski kot. We bypass the wild traverses and watch concentratedly for the markers. We succeed in following them to the end. The kot was lively, we satisfied.
Safe!

Today through Grlo to Rjavčki vrh.nasmeh
We left the car at Dom planincev and cheerfully along the road to Logarski Kot, where we head to Grlo. Above the cirque we head into the gully, which we later realize is not the one from the reports above. No problem, when climbing higher we spot it, but already below us.nasmeh Continuation to the ridge is then the same. From the forepeak a bit down and then left through scrub to the junction with the "normal" path.
Descent to Klemenča and back to the car.mežikanje

Dolfi, it would be easier to drive straight into Logarski kot. Then return from Klemenča via the old path that brings you directly to the beer in L.kot.cool

At Razpotje - Klemenča Cave - Rjavčki - Klemenča - Planincev Hut.

The first part of the path is collapsed and damaged by disasters, but nothing that would prevent walking. The descent on the second path was better and the path nicer.

The scree has quite a deep gully of scree that slid into the valley.

Snow starts in patches at 1800 m, winter gear is not needed at this moment.

The path through Grlo, at least in the upper part, does not look damaged, but the lower part might be different.

Safe steps,
Ben

Today probably the last time so high this year, so I head towards Planinšca. No snow to Klemenča Cave, from the hut to the junction for Škarje trodden and very icy. I notice tracks towards the notch, but I go in the direction of the bivouac as far as it is trodden, then traverse under Ojstrica towards the slope under the saddle. After crossing the old avalanche, I continue with the ice axe, snow is solid. The higher I go, the more it sinks in, so before the summit I almost despair velik nasmeh

in the mountains one never despairs. If for any reason one does not reach the summit, one simply says: "The mountain didn't want it." velik nasmeh
