Dear all,
on Saturday I plan to do a tour: at 7am by cable car to Vogel, then from Vogel ski hotel to hut at Planina Razor, then over Vogel, Rodica, Crna Prst and to Bohinjska Bistrica... is the tour feasible or not... I'm in good condition... thanks in advance for answers... best..nasmeh

yes I have read some comments, but unfortunately I didn't find any similar to this path and I was a bit curious..well that's not so bad..but I wasn't sure if it's doable in one day...thanks for the answer...best

It is doable in one day, just don't know why go to Planina Razor. Beautiful hut, even better food, but you'll have to go back to Vogel.
I'd rather suggest for another tour: Tolminske Ravne-Tolminski Kuk-Podrta Gora-Vrh nad Škrbino-Planina Razor-T.Ravne
All-day, nice tour.

Yes, Miri! Your suggestion is really a beautiful tour, but did you think that maybe he needs "stamps".

Azuri, last year my son and I did a similar tour, but in the opposite direction: cable car to ski hotel, chairlift to Orlovi Glave, Vogel summit, descent to Planina Razor, Škrbina (but just before Škrbina saddle there's a nasty scree field), Snežna Konta, Dom na Komni, Savica - start at 8am at Orlovi Glave, lunch at Pl. Razor, caught the last bus at 19:00 in Savica to the lower cable car station where we left the car - 11 hours with stops, lunch, lots of photos, catching breath, leisurely walking..... simply unforgettable tour. velik nasmeh

Azuri, we did a very similar tour a couple years ago, small group, but skipped Vogel and planina Razor. The rest was long enough. Went by cable car to Vogel, chairlift to Orlove glave then to Šija, Rodica and Črna prst and back to Bohinjska Bistrica. Didn't rush, took about 10 hours with all photos. Your tour doable of course, but no long breaks. Best

I joined the hike on g.Vinko Kobala's path 10 times. Very nice experience with Holy Mass on the path between Rodica and Črna prst in the so-called Cathedral and lots of good mood, you forget all the efforts. Big praise to organizers. Recommend.

Azuri, the path is really long for one day. I'd skip planina Razor, since from Vogel it's 1.5 hours down, then 2 hours back up.
Maybe do the path in two days. First day start in Bohinjska Bistrica and end at planina Razor. At the junction below Šija you'll see how strong you still are, and can end at Vogel cable car.
Second day from planina Razor continue towards Škrbina or Komna and cover the entire ridge of Lower Bohinj Mountains.
Wait for better weather so you get the views, which are the essence of this path.

Thanks everyone for the detailed reports... yes Valerija112 and Miri, I'm from Maribor and really trying to get as much as possible, so going to Planina Razor for the stamp too, doesn't mean I won't do other tours around here sometime...nasmeh...tomorrow just hope the weather holds...thanks...best

Azuri, while hunting stamps you quickly lose the essence of hiking in mountains.
Timetable of your route by direction signs is like this:
Top of Orlove glave chairlift-Vogel: 2 hours (from SKI hotel 2.5 hours)
Vogel-pl.Razor: 1.5 hours
Pl.Razor-Črna prst: 7 hours
Črna prst-Bohinjska Bistrica: 2.5 hours
Total 13 to 13.5 hours.

You can shorten the tour by taking only the first chairlift from Ski hotel and then descend right down the ski slope. There find markings for Komna direction. After less than an hour walk turn to Globoko pass (sign for Planina Razor) and descend to the hut. So you save one ascent to Vogel.

Weather forecasting causes problems even for professional forecasters.
Last time I was around here, Arso forecasters on TVS predicted clear all day without a cloud for Julian Alps, on website www.meteo.si - forecast for mountain world, same forecasters promised clarity for Vogel until 14.00. But actually clouds started gathering over Triglav already at 8 am, at 14.00 all peaks were in clouds. For moments of sun on photos I waited quite long sometimes. Good that it didn't rain.

Yesterday I did a circular trail from the village Rut to Rodica, then continued towards Črna prst and then descended to Kal and on to Stržišče. From there along the geological trail to Rut.

The trail is without features (no snow anywhere anymore), quite a few people on the peaks.

On Saturday, 6.6.2015, fog awaited me at the upper station of the Vogel gondola instead of the forecasted clear sky, so I started hiking already at the SKI hotel on Rjava Skala. The worst was right up to Orlove glave, higher up the fog began to lift. A nice day was promised, but the peaks over 2,000 m completely clouded over in a few hours and there were no views. Despite the fog it was already stifling in the morning, the heat built up to noon. Swarms of flies, wasps, gnats and other bugs accompanied me the whole trail. Fortunately, the wind started in the afternoon and conditions for the final part under Črna prst were still tolerable. The trail at critical points is as miserable as always, but it could be nicely arranged with a little effort. Little flowers bloom nicely and delight at every step. Finish in Podbrdo while waiting for the train. Due to the little loco that had puffed through Baška grapa an hour earlier and paralyzed traffic on the Bohinj line, the train was over 0.5 hours late.
