Nice. In the valley all day fog, then in the afternoon also light rain, so there was nowhere to go. Really, a real winter fairy tale, nothing special.

In the morning from the cold foggy valley to Rogla and specifically by car to Matica. There a completely different picture, because from there on sun and much warmer. Path quite flat and to the road from Vitanje barely an hour and a half, to Rogla another 10 minutes. I look at the thermometer and it shows almost 10 degrees. Really quite warm, so I head to Pesek and spend the Sunday morning in a wonderful day. And this path over Tolsti vrh and Volovica is well marked.

Today an excellently utilized day on Rogla. Since I haven't been up here for quite some time, I was surprised to notice that quite a lot has been done since then.
New signs, cross-country trails, lakes... Nice.

Rogla-Lovrenška lakes-Ribniška lakes-Ribniški peak-Ribniška hut and back; for this escape from killing heat and "soul to pasture" instead of high peaks I chose rather oxygen-filled "cooler forested lungs" of Pohorje and no regrets; sometimes something "leisurely" hits the spot ; path is walking and nicely winds between trees, hidden from hot sun rays, open only here and there on some scenic slope; with first stop at Lovrenška lakes, where beautiful water lilies are just richly blooming, then slight descent to Ribniško saddle Šiklarica, then ascent to other wonderful lakelets – Ribniška, where gorgeous water lilies are also in full bloom; then ascent to Ribniški peak with monument, then towards Ribniška hut full of hikers, time for snack from backpack; also three deer between Ribniška hut and Ribniško lakes made our day nicer; on the way back to start of course obligatory stop along path at spring of cold water, supposedly named "spring of love" (which we filled in all empty bottles, hehehe) and towards Rogla, where in late afternoon hours it already pleasantly and refreshingly cooled down; again a nice day in the mountains

Tone, but now you could already replace the daisy on the hiking pole, you know.

Otherwise, Rogla is a pleasant destination both in winter and in summer.

Part of the hiking path from Mislinja to Rogla leads over lesser-known peaks Volovica (1455 m) and Kraguljišče (1454 m). The river Paka springs below the Volovica peak.
Sadly, there are no detailed data, pictures or better description online about this path and the mentioned peaks and access to the Paka spring. Please, if anyone knows more about the path, even better would be terrain photos

Radegunda Why are you delaying? You need to set out, simple "fotkič" in hand, some bait for observing... and "that's it". Km, elevation..., portals calculate. Expecting report in "conditions" or better "official path descriptions".
Old Chinese saying: "don't give fish to the hungry, but a rod so he catches it himself". And another "do it yourself, so others don't have to". Best regards, Bruno/bruny.

Beautifully spent Sunday on Rogla. Sunny, temperature from -9 to -6.
Rogla - hut on Pesek - Lovrenska lakes - Rogla ...
