From Vitanje (550m) to Rogla towards Lovrenška lakes, where we turned towards Pesek. Wading was mostly up to knees, sometimes up to waist. New snow was about 35 cm.

Rogla-Lovr. lakes-Mašin Žaga(03.02.18)
From the village Vitanje to Rogla. To the Lovrenška lakes it was somehow okay, with a bit more effort even without snowshoes. New snow about 50-60 cm. In the direction of Pesek to Mašin Žaga and through the forest back up past the Petra Majdič Cross-country center to the valley. Ski areas operating at full throttle.

On Rogla they are clearing up, although there is 1.5m snow on the ski slope and yesterday huge number of skiers. In mockery of Rogla (management), Areh, Golte, Krvavec and some ski areas extending season for a week or two. The saying holds true - Because richer, closed.

We also went yesterday as a family to check out the Treetop Path, family ticket is 25 €. Haven't seen such crowds anywhere for a long time .
The view from the tower is really nice in all directions.
@TomaB - KSA visible: in my opinion from left the top of Kalški greben, Veliki vrh - Velika Zelenica, Planjava, Ojstrica, Grintovec, Skuta, Rinke, Mrzla gora, Matkova kopa and right the ridge of Raduha, if that's not correct let someone correct me .

Ski resort at Rogla not operating today. But lots of visitors on the newly snow-covered slopes. Nice and brrrr -8 cold day on Pohorje.

In the foggy morning I opened this year's hiking season. The path from Vitanje to Rogla is nice, solitary, real snow starts at the last farm at about 1000m. For nearly an hour I followed someone's tracks in the snow, who probably walked here a day before, it was sinking in, but it was very nice. Higher up, where the path from Vitanje joins the path from Skomarje, there's a good trail.
Despite the fog or because of it, winter nature is wonderful, especially if you're used to valley mud
At the upper chairlift station I felt a bit sorry for all who drove up here for the four open ski slopes in not very friendly weather. Well, definitely better a day on snow than staying home.

The one from Vitanje is nice or you can park also at Sv. Vid at 800m. Probably my trail was still from mid-week, yesterday I was from Skomarje. Few people walk your today's one, that's why it's even better to visit it

Hehe, I was even studying that these are redbull's tracks, thanks for the footprints!
Didn't meet anyone on the whole path except a couple of friendly and one wild dog so I believe no crowd
Now I finally pulled out the Pohorje map and with the path over Skomarje you could make a loop and close it somewhere around sv. Vid, is it also nicely marked?
