ZeK, my opinion is that ŠP is more easily accessible via the ridge from DK than the approach Za Akom, you just need to spot it right.

Bravo, hats off guys, really top tour... Široka Peč has slipped from me twice this year already. First, with climbing partner, we climbed the east pillar and ran out of time and turned back before the summit, second "normal route" two weeks ago we had orientation issues, as from the amphitheater we didn't find the right gully to the top. So I'm still waiting to finally step on the summit. nasmeh

My title would be 'Dovški križ and attempt on Široka peč', but I didn't want to open a new thread.
After four years since I had the honor to step on the top of this magnificent mountain (of course with the help of alpinist Dragot), the inner little worm didn't give me peace, so I tried the approach from Dovški križ on Wednesday. Rajko also joins me and we firmly agreed before the tour, as long as it goes, it goes. And indeed. We stopped only at the top of the penultimate tower, where we had to rappel into the depth with a rope.
The new snow was not an obstacle but a help, as our return to Dovški križ was eased by the tracks. Weather ideal the whole time, up we went via Brinova glava, down past the bivouac and express on the scree. My rating of the hiked path nowhere near III, just follow the natural passages. We met only three people at the top of DK.

Yesterday again on this tour, with Dejan (kitta).
In beautiful weather, in ideal conditions, from parking above Martuljek via Za Aka, up approach gully and over jump to Amphitheater and from there to top of Široka peč.
Continued along ridge to Dovški križ, descended south side and climbed to Grlo (South gully didn't suit us due to short rope we had).
From there descended to Kotel and happily scrambled to valley. Even below Three larches scrambled gully almost to flat scree.

Ha ha, Primož, for those with 8a Široka peč shouldn't pose any problems.
I with lojterci haven't gone beyond current 7c routes, so wouldn't know exactly.big
