Šmarna gora

Today a bit differently; morning from Vikrče via Pogačnikova to Grmada, then to Šmarna g., where I met longtime hiking buddy Tinky. Then together via Partizanka to Chapel of Sorrowful MB. Tinky continued to Šmartno, I via Path of Freedom over Zgornja Kuhinja to Mazijeva trail. Then to "crossroads" on Grmada ridge and finally via Westrova to Vikrče. Interesting, varied bit longer route I recommend nasmeh

Weather cloudy and humid. Trail OK, just roots and rocks slippery due to moisture. For such sour weather quite a few ŠG visitors.

Also on Partizanka - just a little slower

Yesterday in Karavanke it was nicer. Only about a week left of "April" weather.

Mountain narcissi are just blooming on Grmada. Almost like on Golica mežikanje

After a cold night, up again to check Sedlo Narcise and also to Grmada.

For a change via Pogačnikova over Grmada to Šmarno, down via Peske.

It looks like there won't be a bonfire for May 1st.

Increasingly neglected, yet under heritage protection?!?!

Quite a lot of snow at the top. Some broken trees causing trouble, especially through Zatrep, since no one went before me. Lower down a mix of snow and mud.

Although it was lightly drizzling in the morning, I set off from Vikrč to Grmada via Pogačnikova, back from Šmarna gora via the path over Peske.
Weather cloudy, at first only light drizzle, from Grmada summit onwards sleet. Path slippery, more mud only towards the end of descent from Grmada to Sedlo, where I also "slipped" jezen

Tinky has documented the consequences already, but attaching another pic from my perspective velik nasmeh

Despite rainy weather quite a few hikers.

Still a bit of smoke from last night's bonfire

The slope of Grmada will soon compete with Golica with narcissus

Tinky, have you fallen ill or run out of ideas for photos? It's kinda strange to me when there are no more daily reports from Šmarna Gora. I miss them. And this ain't joking or sarcasm, so no misguided Slovene thinks that way by chance.
