Under the slope of Šg. I was at eight in the evening, rain was falling which was freezing on the spot. Path from Grada to Kuhinja is a live ice rink. Use of small crampons is almost obligatory.

Today from Šmartno towards Šmarna gora a real little horror. Glaze ice does its thing, trees are collapsing, everything cracks and creaks under the weight of the ice. Gave up a bit above the chapel.

Even in the afternoon at the bridge over the Sava in Tacen there was loud banging that deterred me from visiting Smarna Gora. Had to settle for a walk in Brod.
But that's nice too, just get outside  hood on your head, and let's go!

As soon as conditions for cleaning allow, at PD Šmarna Gora we'll organize a work action and prepare at least the main access paths.

I inform all daredevils on Šmarna Gora that Ljubljana police has advised against hiking to Šmarna Gora, as it is deadly dangerous due to falling trees.
By snooping around in broken forests you endanger not only yourselves but also potential rescuers who will have to dig you out from under fallen trees. Please note that firefighters, rescuers and others currently have plenty of work, even without your thoughtless actions adding more.

Today I pushed through the partisan path to the top of Šmarna. Horrific, in summer there will almost be no shade on the slope. Luckily there is no more ice on the trees, almost all have fallen too, some branch here and there hangs on the remaining crowns. A proper action will be needed to clean the path.

I'd like to warn that yesterday on the pilgrimage path just before the junction of the path through "roots" where the rocky slope is, I experienced two rockfalls, one big more than half a cubic meter, in short deadly dangerous. The cause is the well loosened soil from fallen trees.

Cart path - ZAVRH
Path through PESKE
PILGRIMAGE path
ŠMARTINSKA path
WESTROVA path
Caution won't hurt.
I will report on all newly cleared paths ongoing.
Lots of enjoyment with views from Smarna Gora.
