Yesterday nature gifted me another unforgettable day. Quite a few hikers enjoyed it, since the lady cashier in Vrata sent me to the lower parking lot for three and a half euros. The upper one was already occupied, time just before seven. She mentioned she'd be on duty until 3 p.m..
Already after the first steps I noticed legs wouldn't cooperate best today, somehow heavy they were, well, at least the backpack was lighter this time. At the bivouac I was at least twenty minutes later than usual, but slower hikers motivated me, overtook quite a few
Behind bivouac drop wet clothes and continue on the well-known trail. Comfort ends at Škrlatica shoulder, strap on helmet and past quite a few guys descend into Kotel. There leave unnecessary stuff and on the now well-known route almost after five hours at top of Rokavček. If stick to ideal line, barely exceeds II only at two or three spots. Up top new summit register box with brand new book, enjoy almost whole hour at summit. During ascent noticed two pitons with heavily faded prusiks, probably for winter rappels. Descent back to Kotel and ascent to 'shoulder' went quick, even forgot about legs and continued with fairly light steps toward top of Škrlatica. There only three 'latecomers', snap a few pics of them, descend simultaneously.
Day is long, weather wonderful, so in Zadnji Dolk head toward Dolkova špica, ascent already in shade so much easier. Can't understand how someone could damage otherwise sturdy strong summit box. Do such jerks really go to our mountains?
Descend toward Dovški Gamsovec, soon turn left onto pathless steep scree and still in sun at bivouac. Change to dry clothes again and hike alone into valley in cold shade.
Since super visibility all day, didn't give camera much rest.

I was already thinking yesterday what lucky guys those are who could be in the mountains today and yesterday.

lijaneja, how nice it is to read descriptions of your ascents. All mountains are known to you and you make it easier for me too to check some out. Few in Erjavčeva's party can manage such feats.

Thanks, Majda and Boštjan! I realized that the best recipe for recognizing a mountain is multiple visits from all possible approaches, so it slowly 'grows on you'.
Dejan, I think a stronger hiker with proper tools could fix the box on the spot.

I think the box can't be fixed. Maybe straighten it, yes. But it's not fixed anywhere. And no big deal if some idiot throws it somewhere. I was already shocked that at IV. there's no more pole with signpost. The signs are just on the ground. I assume the same moron at work on signpost and box.

As the number of visitors to our beautiful mountains rises every year, the culture of behavior drops proportionally, not to speak of the honor code of Slovenian mountaineers, for most it's something to spread on bread.
