St. Jacob 806m above Ljubljana

You took your bike, we took our feet. We started at Slavkov dom, then along marked and unmarked paths on the ridge route first stepped onto Jeterbenk, former knights' dwelling. We descended the other side down where those diligent from local PD newly reinforced the path. First towards Topol, then quickly right to nearby hill Rog. From Rog then on paths to Jakob, nice church in Polhograjcih. Back first along road through Topol, drank coffee at open farm tourism on Viharnik's first pic and on circular marked path descended back to Slavkov dom. Weather held, nice for hiking.

High temperatures and crowds in the mountains usually don't go together, so I visited Jakob again with MTB.
Start and return via Toško čelo. Fog this time persisted all the way to the last climbs before Topol. The air was completely different from winter, spring-like light and warm. At the top of Jakob, heat was already shimmering from the south-facing grasses. You could see very far, everything peaceful and beautiful. I sunbathed up there nasmeh

for about an hour, then rode back to the fridge mrk pogled

To stretch one's limbs, one doesn't have to expose oneself to 4th degree avalanche danger in the mountains at any cost.
I hop on MTB and ride from foggy cold Ljubljana towards sunny Jakob. Today stubborn fog reached up to about 600m. Roads nicely rideable, temperatures just right for uphill pedaling. Up top the sun pleasantly warmed with a southern breeze, crowds of young families with kids headed to Jakob. The freshly snow-covered mountains gave me an impression of some peaceful uncertainty anchored in them and waiting. Later, as forecasted, cirrus clouds formed in the sky, but still plenty of sun for the return to cold fog. Another nice winter tour to Jakob! nasmeh

Jakob will at least get some snow in the future

cold got me,
so even to Jakob I'd hardly manage.
I console myself that in the new year it'll be better,
just somehow the sick days drag on slowly. nasmeh

In the morning I already went towards Jakob with MTB with partially healed back.
Climb to it classically via Toško čelo and return the same way.
On Ravnik plateau in the forest by the road still plenty of fallen trees, but roads are already completely free of logs, even from Vihr to the top of St. Jakob. Clouds and sun alternated in the sky, north wind intensified only with altitude. Very few visitors.
A grateful nearby tour for any occasion nasmeh

I can say that on average 4x a week I'm on Jakob, I take it as a walk with my how how nasmeh

This time with MTB to Jakob via the north side through Žlebe.
In Žlebe before the last climb under St. Marjeta I turn right onto initially asphalt road, later the path turns into forest gravel all the way to farm Kozomer below the top ridge of Brezovice near Jakob 750m. There at the farm I take grassy track that winds quite to the right in a semicircle and higher under Jakob joins the north connecting ridge path. To the top still a short turn.
At the top it was quite windy from SE and a bit cooling. Nice, less visited tour from north side I finish via Toško čelo nasmeh

If Jakob calls, even rain doesn't get to you easily.
So I start dry in Ljubljana, at Toško čelo a tangled cloud from south surprises me with rain - heavens know.
At the top already somewhat wet in raincoat I continue all the way to Jakob, where just before Katarina weather stabilizes with clear skies. On the way I meet a group of MTB like-minded people, as some train even if curses fall from sky. At top quite warm, with light breeze. So not to ride same track, I cross north track to west ridge of Jakob at Tehovec, there via Mamovec to Žlebe and home. Standard loop 32 km taking under 2h, avg speed 17.1 km/h. nasmeh

Nothing has turned white on Triglav yet.

In slippery conditions with winter tires carefully down to the valley.

Viharnik bad weather doesn't stop for a tour,
but I'll ride in higher gear, he says.
Towards dear Jakob always gladly turns,
especially when Triglav awaits in the distance.
Such was yesterday's MTB story,

A standard afternoon ride to Jakob with MTB.
At Toško čelo I only noticed that the tires were half flat, so for the way down I chose the asphalt road Ločnica and via Sora I made an additional nice loop. The weather with rain held out, at Sora there were puddles from a recent shower, which didn't catch me jezik

Today I went only across the saddle of Katarina (Topol)

French valves can be completely loose and still not leak. Tested many times velik nasmeh

If you have caps over them, it's harder. It was leaking quite slowly and stopped at half tire.

From stubborn morning fog and high clouds, later a proper autumn day formed.
Didn't hesitate long, grabbed the bike and already speeding towards Toško čelo and Jakob ridge in the distance. After about an hour and a half parked in front of Jakob summit church and dozed an hour on bench with warm sun. For return used muddy north traverse to ridge at Mamovec and descent to Žlebe, so not riding same road back.
Tour very nice and suitable for short break. Tomorrow already path to Genova to Navaratri p., on way back visit Sabine in Taufers under Zillertal Alps, where we jump on some nice tour, since over our coastal highway supposedly all crosses and troubles. Lp! nasmeh

Also moto - jump on bike, for healthy body - not such bad option, if from foggy and cold Lj. basin you arrive at our nearest Jakob solarium.
In the morning I mount winter tires on bike and via foggy Toško čelo reach sun only at edge of Katarina ca 680m. Higher real luxury of warmth and sun. Last rain deeply undermined roads in many places, which now filling with sand and strengthening. After such nice day turn to nearby Rog and return home to freezer via shortest same path.
For bike in fog already quite cold, so dress well.

I don't remember when I had such a pleasant December ride to Jakob with MTB?
Circular tour start via Toško čelo, where hikers were swarming, cars squeezed into every possible spot in bushes beside road.
Air was very clear, sun for December quite warmly shining, no wind which was forecasted.
Due to increasing trash at upper parking above Swarzmann, smart to make village ramp already down at Topol, because most non-hikers drive straight to inn for three steps walk over threshold, which causes only smog, noise and crap jezen

Since even for downhill I like to ride a bit, despite shade and longer path, used descent via Žlebe and Medna home. At 6°C on fast tour, belly thaws only home under warm shower velik nasmeh
