Darinka, we're saying what we wrote - and I'll repeat once more - let's follow PZS and GRS guidelines. They never reported statistics of the sick you mention, but only give warnings and requests for safer movement or hiking during the epidemic. Some say relaying and repeating those organizations' requests is "bullshitting" or "stirring shit", which says more about those expression authors than enough. I won't even talk about congratulations to those ignoring the requests..

Government spokesman @djimuzl has said his piece, so please stick to his instructions. Only then won't we have to read him every day. Thanks

Aha, that's the problem. Some obviously consider PZS and GRS requests as government decrees. The tips from those organizations are treated as some social norms people should follow. But the government prescribes abnormally high fines with its restricted movement regulations, that's what deters the "heroes" described earlier from even bigger "feats". Those "heroes" are obviously still scared - of getting hit in the pocket.

Darinka, maybe now you get sick less since you don't walk in snow... Anyway, even against your will you might have contributed to it too. Many will thank you.

On Sunday quite a few walkers were on Storžič. We all kept proper distance on the summit plateau and everywhere. Trip on dry path past the bench above Lovrenc is easy. No one jump in the air. Just usual walk, only not flat. Meanwhile on Polana by full packed parking was crazy crowd.

Walkers you kept optimal distance to PZS and GRS too. Yes, heroes all in a row.

Does anyone know the current conditions for access to the Storžič summit from Kališče? I'm interested if the summit access is dry

@djimuzl The GRS task is always the same, to reduce the number of people in the mountains regardless of summit height and other reasons. Fewer hill visitors means fewer problems for them. PZS is on the other side promoting walking and healthy lifestyle. And that PZS discourages walks even on easy mountain paths and mid-altitude is not logical anymore. Especially now when our health system regarding COVID-19 has been stable for more than 2 weeks regarding the number of hospitalized patients.

Interesting "task" for GRS you've invented. The withdrawal of the recommendation not to visit high mountains will be announced by relevant institutions when conditions are favorable. But if left to individuals' judgment - as some are doing now - the situation regarding mountain visits would be much less controlled than now. I absolutely agree that the latest PZS recommendations are very rigorous..

Mako, you've kicked right into the topic: "GRS's task is always the same, to reduce the number of people in mountains, regardless of summit height or other reasons. Fewer hill visitors means fewer problems for them." Here's what it says on their website: "The purpose and basic activity of the Mountain Rescue Association of Slovenia (GRZS) is to voluntarily help people in mountain accidents and on difficult access terrains. Our work also includes prevention and education of members and other mountain visitors." So no discouraging people from mountain world visits, quite the opposite, as they provide trainings and preventive actions too.

@turbo - the GRS task in the current context of conditions is exactly as Mako wrote. So, fewer people in the hills (currently-during the epidemic) because that means fewer potential bad situations for those involved. Closing and restricting the mid-mountains on the other hand is first-rate, short-sighted stupidity. When following the recommendations regarding distance, disinfecting or handwashing and not touching the face, there's really no increased chance e.g. of infection transmission on a walk to Velika Planina or Kamniški vrh. Yes, pedants will say the risk of a bad event on the way to the starting point or on the tour increases and the best is to stay home - where statistically a significant share of people die

He wrote that the GRS task is always the same, he didn't write "in the given moment". And I replied to that because I think that's not the case. I won't speak about the current situation and recommendations, but that I have my own opinion on it is certainly true.

@turbo Bojan, you're right. I wrote the comment too superficially. This is how I should have written it: "It is in the GRS's interest to reduce the number of unwise people in the mountains, regardless of summit height or other reasons. Fewer visitors in the hills means fewer problems for them." Another question is whether the walkers on Kamniški vrh are really irresponsible in the given situation. The situation here is stable, the epidemic is declining.
