Today, 30.3., I was on Strelovec. From Knez I went with skis, otherwise it would sink quite a bit, to Icmankova planina, then to the top, back skiing, a bit southern snow otherwise super, just like the weather. L.P.

Today 20.4.08 I visited Strelovec from Logarska (Plesnik). To Klemenča through the hole. Path to Klemenča is dry. Snow starts a bit earlier when the path splits to Grofička. It says 40 min to Strelovec. Used all cck. 3 hrs. Snow slightly refrozen and lots left. Sank to th...! Very tough - do not recommend for at least 3 weeks (north side). Also trouble on upper ridge (wet snow). Tried to return via Plesnikova planina - after 20 min descent back to start (frozen crust, powdery snow below). Barely found path to Knez farm (dry path). Thanks to mountaineer with wife who drove me to Rogovilec and driver who picked me up there and took me to Plesnik so I got back for companion. (5:30 start at Plesnik, 6:15 at Klemenča 11:45 top Strelovec, 16:15 back to Knez planina for companion. Regards

Is there still any snow on the path? Tomorrow we would go with family, 2 kids. Regards, Stane

Stane, if you go from Robanov kot and past Knez you will walk on grassy path. Still do not recommend the path I did past Klemenče. It's northern side and snow was still a lot a month ago - on avalanches surely 2 meters. So if the weather is somewhat OK go past Knez (you can drive there also with car) and on nice path to Strelovec.

We intended to go past Knez, but it looks like the weather will be somewhat worse. I hope next week will be better. Tomorrow then somewhere lower

Pics are from 5.10. It was wonderful, with husband we were rewarded with this wonderful nature for the whole year back, as nature accompanied us with rather bad weather and not much nice views. This uploading pics really drags ... LP! Jelči

Thanks for the praise, I admit it's the first time I decided to put photos on this page, I think they are more of a private thing, but sometimes it bothers me that we need to bring mountain beauties closer to others who can no longer do uphill paths or... In our collection there are already more than cca. 3000 pics, but we are just beginners at photography, yet there would be even more wonderful ones with better motifs, just think of the mountain flowers collection... and these pics in long winter days when no mountain tour is possible revive my soul and heart. And LP hoping for a nice weekend again.

Jelči! You made very good photos and it would be a shame not to publish them! The last one, I set right away as screensaver - it's very nice! Posting also the April one I made on the hike with my son! Lp

This picture is wonderful too. Simply wondering how it's possible that the mountains have addicted us so much lately, just looking at the photos I'm already up top somewhere. And if we're not out somewhere every weekend, I admit we're a bit grumpy. Even at work they recognize me on Monday whether I was hiking or not. Weird, but I can't help myself. I remember well our second hike last year to Košuta - Veliki vrh, when we chatted with two hikers and on the question: "Do you know these flowers?" Simple answer: "I know only the alpine rose." And how you can hike in mountains with eyes blindfolded. It's possible. But for me that's not the goal. On Saturday hoping for a trip towards Vodotočnik and a meeting with ptarmigans, they say there are lots there. I've heard them whistling already, but haven't seen them. And LP.

Photos are wonderful. All praise. I know you need to first "see" the motif and then capture it with the camera. Even the best technique and pixels and MB don't help make good photos if you simply don't "see". You obviously "see" and know how. But I'm still curious what beast you shoot with.

Nothing special, Olympus 410, I'm thinking of an additional lens, but it'll have to wait a bit in the shop. Somehow my husband and I divide the photography tasks, I look for motifs, he shoots. Really, I admit it's a great pleasure for us when we upload the photos to look at them again and evaluate them. Cheers!

Hi! On Saturday we went with a colleague to Strelovec past the Palenk waterfalls, descended to Klemenča cave. Soon an unmarked path branched off to the left from the marked path to Klemenča, which in a few minutes took us to a viewpoint (nice view into Robanov kot), then the path dropped a bit and rose briefly (rock walls on both sides, like a gully - there we turned back to the marked path). I wonder if this path descends to the end of Robanov kot and what the difficulty or exposure of this path is? Thanks and best regards.

This path leads towards Utam. It is unmarked and harder to follow. At the start it is well visible (where you went), then the traceability is lost. It is not too difficult - for the experienced. I described something, and more detailed "medo" (Krofička), search for it and have a look.

Strelovec - not conquered this time, but enough was over Klemenča cave and towards the summit to the path junction, where we met two hikers who were returning from the path to Krofička - they also turned back due to conditions somewhere below the summit. Despite that, it was wonderful. Weather favorable, occasionally strong wind.
