Ah, those Solčava mountains, how beautiful they are!

30.3.2024
Dom Planincev - Molznik - Strelovec - descent along the ridge towards Icmankova planina - then via Plesnikove on marked path to the valley to Kitajec, to the car pleasantly through the forest.

Marked from Dom Planincev to Jama is dry, but well eroded.
From Jama to Puklavce dry.
From Puklavce to Molznik still lots of snow, which is wet, so it sinks.
Ridge to Strelovec partly dry.
To Icmankova planina mostly dry.
From Icmankova to Plesnikove I went on forest road, snow, dry, no problem.
From Plesnikova planina to valley nice marked steep beautiful dry forest path.

Good luck!
How this log got under the roots is a mystery.1

@garmont reminded me that I wrote Movznik with an L. Don't know where that L slipped in instead of V velik nasmeh
Would correct the text, but can't... fixed it on the photo. Correct is Movznik, not Molnik velik nasmeh
Thanks Dolfi for the correction! best

Robanov kot - Knez - Lucjan - Strelovec - Robanov kot
We parked the car in the shade, a few hundred meters before the parking lot in front of Roban farm. Follows ascent to Knez farm and continuation on tracks to the ridge. The start is quite battered from storms and in places hard to pass. Then follows ascent to the rocky peaks of the ridge, seasoned with scree. This is the hardest part!
After climbing the last rocky peaks, only easy ascent along the ridge to Strelovec top remains. We don't stay long here, but descend marked to Knez pasture. Among fallen trees we search for the gully along which we descend to the forest track turning point. Here we refill water and continue along the track ahead, which ends before impassable gully. We descend the slope and in lower part search for passage across scary gully. We find abandoned hunting path that brings us to hay barn. From here we follow poorly visible path a bit longer, which then completely disappears (probably missed somewhere). Below we already see last Robanov meadow, hidden from eyes of Robanov kot visitors. We descend along gully where water flows and admire well-hidden waterfalls. A little more and green Robanov meadow is before us. In Robanov kot there is lots of construction machinery repairing damage from last year's storm. Torrential waters that rushed down Strelovec gullies carried away road to pasture at larger spots and deposited huge scree.

27.5.2024 Strelovec from Robanov kot
Last time during the descent to R. kot from Strelovec I got an idea that tormented me for the last fourteen days.
In the morning I found a hunting, shepherd path that took me directly to Knez pasture. In the lower part it is still nicely visible, then in the steepness it completely disappears. It reminded me of Črni hriber when we discovered it. Steep and tough!! Probably no human foot has walked it for several decades.
At Knez pasture at the shepherd hut I take a rest and a modest snack. The ascent was quite strenuous for me (steep and searching). From here to the top of Strelovec. Sheep already merrily bleat and graze on fresh grass. I descend the marked path to Knez farm. From here to Vršnik on "my" variant crossing all road bends. Still some macadam left and after 6 hours 30 min and 13 km back at the start.
Strenuous and demanding orientation hike.

Though I just brushed against Strelovec, I'll share today's trip here.
A little before noon I start walking towards Planšarija, then on Robanov's meadow I turn right behind the fence towards the end of the meadow. When I hit the right direction, I go up the steep cut until I cross the second vlaka at Ogniše (from the map), then along and beside the gully left under the walls of Ravna peč. I move upwards more towards the west, seeking nice passages. The world is outstanding! I crawl on all fours admiring nature's sculptures! Over steep passages west and south of Ravna peč I step onto the map-marked peak Turni 1578m. Nice, spacious peak! Satisfied and tired as adrenaline fades, I slowly walk to Movznik. The wind on the ridge quickly chases me down past the pasture to Knez; there I decide to descend to the valley by the road over Ogradijeve njive, not too steep winding down by Knežak. I noticed the road crosses paths several times; lower, when it crosses the ditch, I turn left to the abandoned vlaka that leads exactly to the nice abandoned path up and down crossing steep slopes of Kogl. Picturesque path after half-hour traverse ending merging with vlaka spits exactly at the second right bend of the road from Roban to Knez. Excellent!

Ha ha, andi2
In 2024 we three can regularly hike up there. At the end of the year we might succeed in assembling part of the whole. From Špilak, Žlebnik, Spihavnik to Veliki Kir. There are many abandoned paths; they just need to be assembled and connected.

Agreed and settled, if health allowsnasmeh I remember when we went with Dad as teenagers over Špilak; it was a real experience. And I didn't know there would be dozens of other options within a few km radius. Really nice part of the Savinjas.

I have to admit I first thought of them before we went down into that thicket. When we got through to the forest, we checked ourselves and surprisingly saw none. This year I've already had cca. 8 ticks. I get on average up to 20 ticks per season (in 2022 just under 50 ticks from March to October). Even though I spray myself with anti-tick spray before the hike and rub with lemon/vinegar, change and wash before getting in the car. Yesterday I found one on my arm from Monday, despite all precautions.

It kinda puts me off exploring because of these nasty parasites. I do spray myself and wear socks over pants, luckily I spot them in time, but that nasty feeling always lingers, "what if I miss one".

I myself am lucky with these bloodsuckers, but I do spray myself with this every now and then, acquaintances recommend it too:

Ah I don't worry anymore. 100 ticks per season, if you don't walk on marked trails, is normal.
