On May 9th it was completely fine. Snow was only still in the depressions. And it's probably melted quite a bit already, čav!

Today I'm going from Srednji vrh to Trupejevo poldne. The path is nice, although there are no markers it's easy to follow. Between Srednji vrh and Železnica there's a large snow slide on one part of the path, mixed with soil and fallen trees. I continue the path down the valley and across the pasture to the saddle. Then a short ascent along the ridge and I'm at the top, which is cordoned off with tape and a warning sign. The summit is crumbling, the cross is already quite tilted and held by three cables, the fourth has already given way. At the top it was slightly windy but pleasantly warm. Quite a few people. Returning along the other side of the ridge to the sign that directs me left towards Železnica. I continue through the forest to the hunting hut and from there along the familiar path to the start. I went from Srednji vrh via Železnica. Nice.
Recommend
A bit longer from Belca (went to Kresišče, then Visoki vrh and Mojstrovica) Very nice there too.

Today I was at the summit via Železnica, great weather until afternoon, little views, all in fog. No cross on the summit anymore.

On the path from Srednji vrh through Železnica to Trupej's Noon snow is just a trace (up to 10 cm), so winter gear unnecessary. Sun has fully cleared snow from summit, so you can lie on goat droppings and sunbathe  Track is wide and path easy to follow.

I was there the next day, 13.01, with snowshoes only a few meters above the saddle because further walking didn't seem so safe (to the top new snow over hard old and icy), thanks for tracks/trail, day same photocopy as pics.

On Sunday 16.1.2011 we were at Trupej's Noon. Wonderful, track good, no crampons or ice axe needed. Summit windless, only sunbeds missing. View wonderful. Down already sinking a bit, up too if not careful stepping. Down snow iced up, shoes a bit soaked.
Trip almost spoiled by farmer who put digger in front of car so couldn't get out. Driver's ingenuity won and at two already sunning in Kranjska Gora before bife.

Alessio, to me too didn't seem very safe ascent to Lepi vrh then, bit better for Trupejevo poldne where gentler (icy crust and dry snow on top). Already late abandoned further tracks ahead. But this Železnica completely out of hustle and frequented paths after visit. Real mountain bliss!. Parking still best at lot under youth hostel on Srednji vrh, there no bother to anyone. Lp

Yesterday, my wife and I were at the summit. Conditions dreamy, powder to the top, summit itself bare. Track now pulled to the top. More in photos.

On Visoki (chicken) vrh, viewed from Jesenice, there is still quite some. So on Tp, which rises a bit higher nearby (north), surely not much different..

Today I headed to Trupejevo poldne from Srednji vrh. Around hunting hut some snow and towards top often encounter it but no big issues. Summit bare, today's hikers didn't use crampons visibly, I put them on for ascent of small snow gully I strayed into, can avoid that part. Ridge has comfortable track. Shame Julijci in gray clouds all day, on TP got quite some sun rays.
