Veliki Draški vrh 2243m

Print
ajda26. 05. 2010 21:51:32
Today I went to Veliki Draški vrh. The path from Rudno polje to Jezerc is dry. At Jezerc snow starts and continues all the way to Studorski preval. The snow sinks so it's good to put on gaiters. From the pass onwards to Veliki Draški vrh the path is dry. I descend to the saddle between Veliki and Mali Draški vrh; on the path there are some snow patches that don't hinder walking. I continue on the well-visible path towards Srenjski preval. Here there are two narrow snowfields; I avoid one by going a bit lower, over the wider one on already made footsteps. At Srenjski preval I turn towards Viševnik and ascend the marked path to the summit. I descend towards the ski slopes. Today I met no mountaineer on the whole path. Nice greetings.

I am interested in the condition of the path towards Veliki Draški vrh, if someone has visited the summit in the last days, if the path is trodden, maybe also the condition towards Debela peč.

From Rudno polje, above planina Konjščica, to Jezerc the path is OK, maybe icy somewhere, but doable. From Jezerc to Studorski preval it sinks, especially in the lower flat part and when you think it will hold...zavijanje z očmi, here strong wind started blowing too (nothing new, hehe), which immediately erased all tracks. To the summit snow is hard somewhere, dry somewhere, sinks a bit somewhere, frozen somewhere. The day today was more cloudy than previous days, but no less beautifulnasmeh.

rozka, I think we hiked together towards the peak yesterday. On the peak we then took pictures of each other. Or maybe I'm talking about someone else?

Otherwise conditions are just as rozka described. I took a full three hours from Konjščica to the pass, because I stopped for longer in some shelter from the wind (yesterday I really didn't tolerate the wind well) and enjoyed the sun (which was still there in the morning). jezik

Sunrise is the most beautiful thing for me and so it was today on the path to Veliki Draški vrh. Had to get up pretty early, since a drive to Rudno polje awaited me and of course ascent to Studorski preval for as nice a view as possible to the east. Good that I have longer legs and got to the right height on time. On the summit beautiful views to Triglav and its neighbors. Soon jackdaws flew for the desired breakfast and in common company we stuffed ourselves, maybe birds even more than me. From the summit I went towards Mali Draški vrh and below at the saddle lay in grass and indulged in lounging with views to Očak. I returned towards Studorski preval and from there towards Pokljuka.

I was yesterday on Viševnik and Great Draški Peak. Almost no snow on the path, those few meters towards Great Draški Peak don't pose problems. The path under Studorski preval is icy, but it can almost entirely be avoided. nasmeh

Again a group gathered that set off for Great Draški Peak. Started before pl.Konjščica and went to Srenjski preval, some of us first to Ablanco then along the ridge to Great Draški Peak, some around to the top...Path is dry only some icy patches towards Studor which you easily avoid. Weather favored us, at times strongly windy, views divine...On top we sunbathed and photographed....nasmeh(pics follow-Sadly no, I accidentally deleted all, let someone else upload them)Really nice day for the hills..

Another large unofficial hribi.net meeting with ascent to Great Draški Peak succeeded in full mountaineering sense.
We started at parking under Pl.Konjščica and in morning chill continued to already sunny meadow. Ahead the four faster ones detoured to always interesting Ablanco with short climbing section, where you can't keep hands in pockets. Early morning view from the peak was a wonderful experience upon seeing sea of clouds some 100m below us, chased by wind. Bohinj ridge was buried in foggy sea, only the backdrop of Vrh nad Škrbino peeked out. After descent we take ridge path to VDV, others assault summit via south slopes. Almost simultaneously we arrive at top, eat, chat, photo, laugh... Then for return we make circular tour via newer variant under MDV to end of pear-shaped cirque of Srenjski preval. Part of group aimed to indulge in Bled cream slices, me and Alenka with Bled pilejezik. Watching swan strolling among walkers by Bled lake shore we ended rich day and parted.nasmeh
