.... Ljubljana - Vižmarje....And I start following the yellow shell markers even from Ljubljana, from St. James' church. Soul-wandering when you forget everything, search for the path and enjoy nature. nasmeh

After a few years I walked the entire path again. To my previous instructions I would add only that meanwhile they have laid out the path from Ljubljana Castle through Rožnik, past Koseški bajer and through the hills above Šentvid to Guncelj.

The path is not yet well marked, but the only serious problem is crossing Andrej Bitenc road (near Pržan) before the ascent into the forest. There obviously someone removed the markers, as they are frequent further on. The path goes straight across the road into the hill and after about 100m at the farm turns left. Later the descent from these little hills is along the mountain path to Gunclje.

Through Polhograjci there are still some issues due to new logging cables. If there are no markers follow the most worn path. It still holds that if there's no marker for a good 10 minutes the path is probably wrong nasmeh

The road towards Mojstrana along Radovna valley is now fully asphalted. Cyclists and motorbikers have adopted it. I don't recommend walking on it on weekends

For the return from Višarje you can already use the gondola, as it started regular runs on 1 June.

The inn on Rožnik by which the path passes was still asleep.

For a change here you can walk on the grass, but not on the field :)

Markers for the St. James path are diverse, usually yellow.

During our hike they were mowing grass everywhere.

The only pilgrims on Slovenian St. James paths I have ever met .... Ladka and Mira.

Monastery in Sv. Duh where we stayed overnight. Accommodation is at a very high level :)

A bit off the path, but the craving for coffee overcame the extra kilometers.

On the way to Podbrežje where the markers lead. After seeing the church, part of the path must be retraced.

On the way to Ljubno. Behind it the path descends deep into the gorge under the Peračica viaduct.

Lake Bled bids farewell to the day, as do we.

Morning at the lake in the direction of the railway station.

There are plenty of signposts here, also for Jakob's Way.

Through the Radovna Valley. The road is now fully asphalted. Not particularly pleasant for walkers.

Signposts that we do not follow. Our path goes along the left bank of the Sava in the direction of Kr. Gora.

Before the bridge in Gozd Martuljek we turn right towards Hotel Špik.

We slept in the hostel. The morning was beautiful, promising another hot day.

And here we crossed the border. The state one of course, and no one sniffed us out :)

The former railway bridge is one of the largest of its kind with deep vistas. A little further on are the only remaining tracks.

After the afternoon heat we reached Žabnica and shortly after turned towards the ski slope.

The direction is unmistakable, the gradient relentless and the mugginess on the edge of tolerable :)

Finally. The summits and cool breeze cooled our overheated bodies, good spirits returned immediately.

Višarje, this time a ghost village. No living soul was there because the gondola was to start running only in 2 days.

Path data. Time includes all stops. Everyone should calculate themselves how many days they need for it

I also stumbled upon the Jakob's path 2x in Kras ... 1st between Dutovlje and Štanjel... and 2nd before Logatec mežikanje

All that you're asking about is part of the main branch of Jakob's path from Slovenska vas on the Croatian border to Trieste. Here I collected my first few 100 km of such paths.

..Continuation of Jakob's path... I start at the junction to Dom na Govejku, Osolnik by the road to Tehovec. The path is solitary, mostly runs through forest. For the conclusion nice, quite long walk through Škofja Loka. nasmeh

...Ursuline monastery, Holy Spirit in Škofja Loka, then to Podnart I take my steps. Across the hills is my today's wandering by the yellow shell markers. Along the path many memorials to the fallen in NOB and the chapels are also nice and interesting. I'm already closer to home areas. nasmeh

Beautiful are our villages, windows full of flowers, old hayracks with lacework, view of the white-clad mountains.

Bled - Krnica... Wonderful is Bled in the morning sun. The castle mirrors itself in the lake in colorful autumn hues. Everything is quiet and calm, even the little island stands alone. nasmeh

I'm happy, I made it.
The purpose doesn't matter, the main thing is I walked this path from Ljubljana to Višarje. Step by step along the path I discovered our beautiful country. You walk and think of nothing. You just feel how good it is, even though around you are only trunks of unknown forest or flowers on windows or chapels radiating serenity, old cottages or new houses. You walk and breathe with the surrounding nature.
Gorenjska branch, Ljubljana - Višarje officially has 143 km and 3800 m of ascent. On my path a few more km accumulated, as Ira and I walked from Mojstrana to Žabnica in both directions. nasmeh

Again I take steps through our beautiful country and revive memories of last year's walked path. This time from Podnart to Črnivec, to me the nicer part of the path, Višarje route. I'll repeat two more stages, even such wanderings are a pleasure.. nasmeh

From Trbiž to Žabnica, then along the upper cycling path, from the old railway station. Nature is already autumn-colored everywhere. Žabnica is beautiful and tidy, Trbiž stands deserted..Nice wandering. nasmeh
