During the week, when the cable car was no longer operating, it was nice to watch chamois on Kanin. First 1 appeared, then they started gathering and finally there were 9 chamois, including 1 kid. They slowly moved along the scree, then after a while trotted out of camera range. Today quite a number of people can be seen, which is very positive for the summer season. The cabin cable car is operating, but the camera showing the gondola cable car is slowly being covered by cobwebs. I hope for favorable wind and a bit of rain to wash this spider web from in front of the camera, maybe chamois will be visible a bit lower under the gondola cable car.

Praise again. The camera on Kanin showing 'view towards Bovec basin' is fixed and now shows a clear image. Kanin is quite well-visited, may the good weather continue. It's interesting to check cameras when radar shows rain, then via cameras you can check where it's raining or what the weather is like and prepare for the hike in that part of the mountains where someone is heading. Cameras are not just for 'peeking' around, but a good aid before heading out on a specific trip. For example via the Solkan camera you can nicely monitor the Soča water level. After strong few-day rain the 'little island' disappears as it's flooded by rising Soča water, after rains it grows daily until visible in normal size.

Does anyone know the reason why the webcams from whatsupcams are not working? None of the mountain cams are working or showing the conditions in the mountains. Is this only for Slovenia, or has there been some malfunction or outage. Thanks for the reply.

It is calculated based on latitude and longitude. In principle, it should be the same in both directions.
The data is updated once a day, so if there's a new camera in between or a non-working one, there could be differences.
There might also be a slight deviation if the camera is right on the 15 km border.

But you can't view the camera on this site anymore, which is at Litostrojska koča Soriška planina. The camera otherwise works, only that one is blocked.
