Apolonija, there were some Zois' violets too, but they have just started blooming.

Apolonija, thanks for the friendly expert addition, I'll add it. Branko, you wander through interesting places far from us. And you always find something interesting! Nice! What if you didn't go in a group that doesn't allow too much individualization of interests

Brane, thanks also for the "report" on the local flora. Pale orchids bloom first and others might still.

If anyone knows what this shrub is called. I photographed it in Budva yesterday.

That's right, it withstands down to -7, as long as such frost doesn't last several days in a row.

Probably yes. It grows about a hundred meters from the sea. There it's warmer than with us. The sea was about 22 degrees, it was pleasant to swim.

darinka4 comes from Australia. There they call it "bottlebrush" (bottle brush).

Oh you know I touched it. It has sharp spines. It pricked me.

I agree that Zlatica posted a real "pasture for the eyes". Cat's ears are something really special. It was a real pleasure to look at, but I can only add golden biscuits from Bavšica. It's slowly waking up around there too...

Otiv; last year at this time you and Brane "botanized" around Zelenica and photographed "beautiful slipper" (your pics 19.May). Can you tell me which part of Zelenica you found them, as I plan and wish to see them. THANKS in advance for answer! p.s. any other site where this beautiful flower grows?

dleskovec, beautiful slipper grows in larger amounts on left side of ski slope under Vrtača hut. When little hill on ski slope dips path turns into bushes and here we find among others slipper and rare eardrop (yellow). Found it also above Vrtača hut on right side. Here path continues to Zelenica. Grew about halfway at bushes. Noticed it even along path. Another known site to me is at Jezersko near big parking-from there to freight cableways to Ledine (sadly burned) and Češka hut. Present on both sides of the so-called road to cableways.

@velkavrh, I'm not a botanist, I don't know flowers, I don't know which is the rarer species, but I wouldn't "hang" every nice site on the internet.

Miri, I completely agree with you. One of my first posts here was similar in content to yours. I understand, the person wants to be friendly and accommodating. But there are private messages too.

I will use private mail for such questions, which I regularly use anyway.

Brane, sorry! With my amateur desire for a beautiful flower I caused you anger and "expert advice from non-botanists". If I had your GSM number I wouldn't have posted this question on this forum either. But tell me all you "botanists", why shouldn't "ordinary flower lovers" know where and when they bloom, why do you claim this privilege for yourselves? It was not my intention to "plunder" this site!!!

Given that there is already a map of habitats of the lady's slipper in the Zelenice area on the net, velkavrh didn't reveal anything new. In addition, we read here about other lady's slipper habitats and there was never any fuss. I can also admit that after the posts here I myself visited one of these sites and happily walked among the "tufts", one more beautiful than the other. A few years ago the Institute for Nature Conservation also collected information on habitats, and at the same time issued an educational leaflet, and if we share it further, there will be more and more people admiring flowers in their natural environment. Link to the leaflet
