Apolonija the real one, which is very bitter, and we collect it in summer for tea or jägermeister and has small pink flowers.

Thanks, Tamara, I've already heard that it's quite a rich area with diverse vegetation there. And Marchy, I'm glad you like the photos.

miri, I'm sure your intention is good, to point this out. I also know these articles, I know Klenovšek's efforts, I agree with them, but personally I'm far away from those people who destroy nature, both in conviction and behavior.

@zlatica, I believe you. What bothers me are such precisely stated locations of these habitats. The flower is beautiful even if you don't know where it grew.

Apolonija, on my pictures it's tavžent flower. From these leaves a stem grows, on which the flower blooms. Here, on the slope of Šmarna gora, after the ice storm a whole plantation has sprouted, before you might get one here and there if you were lucky.

Franci, thanks. I know tavžentroža well anyway, but at our place it grows more in grass. On your photo the rosette looks so big, like yellow gentian Brane, do you distinguish Istrian and fragrant teloh well? By leaves or habitat?

Indeed it's hard to distinguish both mentioned green telohs, because habitats touch a bit and interweave. We distinguish mainly by scent. Stem leaves are also different. Look at mine and tinky 's. Fragrant one smells, Istrian doesn't. Flower size is a bit different, but can be misleading. We distinguish mainly by basal leaves, which are unfortunately just budding during flowering. Dilemma remains of course.

Brane, thanks. Theory is really one thing, practice another. That's why I was curious, what made you decide to photograph the istrski teloh. Because it didn't smell?

If I may say, even the fragrant ones rarely smell, you have to catch it at the right time, otherwise there's nothing to the scent.
