Yesterday along path to Bavški Grintavec all in bloom, fascinated by whole meadows of yellow shrubby flower I saw first time, think it's radiate greenweed. Lower already over, around Planina nad Sočo blooming, higher still in buds.

rok.si, you're right. Yes radiate greenweed - Genista radiata - often covers whole slopes in yellow.

darinka4, in photo #2 you have alpine sow-thistle - Cicerbita alpina.

Some of you take such good care of presenting our mountain flowers, but today I'll list flowers from Dalmatia at the foot of Biokovo. Finally I managed to identify almost all plants with the help of good expert colleagues and some botanists, so I hope the identifications are mostly correct. Some of these flowers we also encounter here, others of course not and there are no Slovenian names, just Latin scientific names. Yeah, it was quite hard work, as I photographed most flowers during a heatwave in full sun, so I literally sweated profusely to catch them in the lens. That's why some photos are not good, some taken with the phone. Best regards nasmeh

Dear Zlatica, you really made an effort. First hunting for flowers under the scorching sun, then with nice shots, and at home searching for names.

Those that grow here too can be recognized, for others we "guess" the genus, for some nothing. I always admire the jointed rabbit clover, the spiny restharrow is interesting, goldenrod has cute buds, I know the red root in the red variant. For the bristly gown we struggled with the name last year, if I'm not mistaken. I have known the large-flowered speedwell for a long time, because they sell it in garden centers as a short-lived perennial, but I didn't know the Slovenian name. This cowslip likes to escape. I always like to meet golden root, at the sea I have seen the yellow one several times, which has a slightly different name, instead of Asphodelus it's Asphodeline lutea. This fistulosum is interesting (fistula is vine in Latin). Allyssum murale. Allyssum is wallcress, murale (murum = wall). It's a pity you didn't see paulownia blooming... Thanks for the shownasmeh

Thanks to both for the praise. Apolonija, your verbal walk through the flowers with explanation of individual Latin names is a real content enrichment of my photo presentation. And since I didn't write everything before that was going through my head, I add that I saw the jointed rabbit clover for the first time and marveled at its beauty like a child, for the bristly gown you're right, last year's effort paid off this year because I recognized it that way, you discovered the yellow rockcress for me, also first time seen by me, for golden root it's hard to say which one it is, because there are quite a few species, also in the Croatian FCD botanical database there are several species, but you almost need a microscope to see the direction of hair growth on the stem, so I preferred not to guess. With wallcress there was quite a lot of trouble to find out the real name, which according to your explanation is more than appropriate for it, since you really find it by walls and roadside walls. Of all the new ones, the species of blue fescue excited me the most, as it has in nature incredibly beautiful white translucent fringes on the bract leaves with a brown center. With this golden root fistulosum I noticed that there is always only one flower open on one stem and if there are many stems together, then it looks quite flowering, otherwise you hardly notice that flower, since it is not larger than approx. 0.5 cm. The species of goldenrod (pic. 23) already excited me years ago, I thought it was some kind of asparagus, well, this year I learn that it is goldenrod. Here only the rock and stone ones grow, which I don't know. Enough now. Ciao

Otiv, you won't believe it, time was found for everything, also for the beautiful sea.
Your blue beauty is Bermuda blue-eyed grass (Sisyrinchium bermudiana). No way that Zelenica offered it to you? Then I'll go up there right away to look for it with a magnifying glass.velik nasmehnasmeh
