Interesting selection of flowers. Sometimes I wonder what guides your choice, chance or something else. It's very educational. Thanks for the effort and best regards

I found mossy saxifrage in 2014 when I went with Austrian colleagues for the first time to Hohe Tauern. It really is beautiful. If I remember correctly, the flower is similar to starry saxifrage, but only the flower. I think it doesn't have a rosette at the bottom. In literature I read it's rare. Identified by malenka.

These white low primroses are interesting. Traunfellner's is common. Seguier's I haven't found here yet. Klemen Janša in his Karawanks handbook states it grows in Karawanks only between Vajnež and Begunjščica. I searched for it there a couple of years ago but didn't find it. I photographed it in 2018 in Italy in the Dolomites. As far as I know Seguier's primrose is on the red protected list as a rare species.

I don't even know if I've ever photographed rusty hawkweed here. Photographed it 2018 on trip to Italy on Konščica-that peak still in Italy, neighboring Starhand already in Austria. Whole slopes around looked rusty from afar.

I still confuse thistles and knapweeds. Hairy thistle is quite common. A couple of years ago I photographed it right on top of Črna prst. Every year I visit this botanical path. A couple of years ago I went up every fourteen days and looked for flowers growing there. I didn't find one third of them. Igor Dakskobler and Polona Strgar have nicely described what grows there in the publication Vegetation of Črna prst and its botanical path.

I was strongly surprised by this thistle with large leaves on a tour of the South Tyrol mountains. It also has such large leaves as the monkshood. Malenka identified it for me.

Thanks, zvončica. The fact that there are no pictures of these plants on the list yet, or maybe just one, usually of poorer quality, guides my choice. I hope it will be useful. Velkavrh, your saxifrage is not the rough one but the mossy one; the admin has moved your pictures there. The mossy one indeed has such leaf rosettes, but the leaflets are not rough - edged with teeth (this is very well visible on one of my pictures). The rough one also has longer, more elongated non-flowering shoots, which the mossy one lacks. For the other flowers, you can ask the admin to put them in the Flowers gallery too. Best, malenka
