Not possible. For such a shadow the sun's position would be behind and below the photographer (which is of course impossible), and Jalovec seen from the photographer's direction illuminated.

@Becar, well...if I got such a picture as some chain email I would also be quite convinced it's a photomontage. But I took this one myself. Precisely because it looked quite unusual.

Did you see this phenomenon live too or only on the photo?

if the clouds are on this side of Jalovec, sun low behind... or mirage, due to different temperatures/densities of air layers...

@Becar, as I wrote, I photographed it because the phenomenon was interesting to me, so my eye too (and the girl's the same saw something very similar to the camera @grega, a colleague who deals with photography a bit more professionally explained it that way too...only the clouds don't look like they were in front of Jalovec. Maybe really a mirage p.s. taken on 22.10. around 16:30...sun really quite low then

What a wealth of colors in the lungworts! You nicely captured the green shades too (17, 11, 12) and the twins of the marsh tulip. For contrast the piggishness that humans leave behind - 2. and 7!

darinka4, nice flowers you found; you somewhat surprised me with the news that you've already found mountain hairy-bells Where have they already peeked out? Somewhere in Primorska, as I think you're from that end. Interesting too how you call them locally... Just show up with some more curiosities from your walks before you head to the high mountains!

I myself was surprised that mountain hairy-bells are already out on the Karst, I didn't know what they're properly called. The name wolf is probably because it's hairy like a wolf.

Yes, that could be the right explanation. Apt. Best regards.

Aren't these mountain hairy-bells Easter flowers or hairy bells like on Boč, since I've always taken them for such?

When the meadows turn yellow, we immediately know where they "plant" dandelions.
